I'm on a mission.
I want to snag a job in my husband's gigantic company.
A whole week has zipped by in a blur since that electrifying night when Zayran stealthily snuck into my room at my parents' house.
He stayed with me the entire night, and when morning rolled around, he slipped out the main door before Mom and Dad could wake up. I helped him sneak out like a secret agent, and later, he returned like some kind of polite gentleman, ready to pick me up.
My father nearly pulled out his gun when I agreed to go with Zayran, convinced that he was somehow threatening me. As if he could! Does papa forget I'm his daughter?
Anyway, Mom handled the situation like a pro, and even though they weren't exactly pleased that I was leaving so soon, I promised to visit them often.
The cold war between my dad and Zayran was in full swing, even when Zayran's parents met mine.
We all sat down for a family dinner, which felt more like a diplomatic summit than a meal, filled with tension and awkward smiles.
Zayran's parents headed back to India. My best friend, however, chose to stay behind, insisting she wanted to spend more time with her "bhai" and "bhabhi," but we all know who she really wanted to hang out with a little longer.
Amir is in desperate need of a job because his mom is often unwell and needs treatment. So, of course, Zara decides to tag along with him, claiming she's just 'helping him out.'
And oh my goodness, my best friend transforms into an entirely different species when she's around Amir! She relentlessly bombards him with cheesy pickup one-liners and cringeworthy flirtations that seem to traumatize him.
Zara even offered to help him by saying she could get him a job at her brother's company, but Amir decline; he's determined to carve out his own path and achieve something on his own terms.
Just two days ago, I planned a fun day out with my best friend, only for that traitor to invite Amir along, making me the third wheel in their little love saga.
I felt like a clown juggling while they were off in their own world! I totally kicked Zara in the butt later for that.
Amir is mostly silent and polite, while Zara is like a hyperactive puppy on a sugar rush, unstoppable and full of energy.
I exactly don't know if Amir has any romantic interest in her, but I totally ship them! They look adorable together, like the perfect combo of 'hyper girl' and 'calm boy,' very similar to me and Zayran.
The only difference is that I'm not as loud as Zara—okay, maybe I'm a tad loud, or whatever—and Zayran isn't exactly calm and polite, he's just straight-up cold and rude.
