I'm freezing. It's so freezing here.
The coldness is chilling, seeping into my bones.
My throbbing head rests against the frigid tile, and I can feel icy water surrounding me. Some water keeps getting into my mouth.
Where am I? Why does my head ache so badly? It takes immense effort to pry open my eyes.
Through my blurry vision I see everything appears a shade of blue.
Gradually, my sight clears, and I cough out the water aggressively, attempting to raise my head, the world spins around me.
I shut my eyes, jerk my head abruptly to clear my vision and cautiously reopen my eyes. And then I see it clearly.
I'm in a swimming pool?
The water level reaches my chest, the depth just enough to unsettle me.
When I try to shift, a clattering sound echoes, and I realize my hands are handcuffed behind my back to the steel staircase of the pool.
What in the world is happening?
Then everything comes rushing back—Someone following me, and then me slamming that person on the ground, and just when I saw his face, something hit my head so hard that I lost consciousness.
Nicolas fucking Romanov. My bastard of a ex-fiancé.
Oh god, I can't believe that lunatic bound me in a freaking swimming pool.
I quickly scanned the entire area, my eyes darting around with urgency.
The surroundings seem like a luxurious open pool area of some farmhouse maybe?
Just then, the laughter echoes in the air, and the mental asylum's star patient, the gross bastard, emerges in his ugly, bulky form, with his two evil spawn of friends—Rocco and Enzo, who belong to mafia families as well.
The satanic trio swaggered towards me, each holding a champagne glass in hand.
"Oh, look who's finally awake, our dear princess." Nicolas, the scum, says, with a twisted grin.
I shoot him a piercing glare.
"Are you enjoying our little pool gathering?" He twirls his champagne glass provocatively.
"Ummm, I bet you're freaked out and caught off guard by all this, right? Did you seriously think I'd just let you go after everything you pulled on me?" He edges closer to the pool.
I chuckle sarcastically.
"Trust me, I'm anything but freaked out right now. I can't even say 'disappointed but not surprised' well, I'm not surprised tho, but disappointed? Actually I would be disappointed if you didn't try this cliché, outdated, cheap kidnapping tactic.
