I can't believe Zayran is actually here.
My heart thuds loudly in my chest like a frantic drumbeat.
With a shaky hand, I reach up to his face, my fingers trembling as I palm his cheek.
To my surprise, he instantly leans into my touch, releasing a soft sigh of contentment.
His dark eyes flutter open, meeting mine, while his forehead stay pressed firmly against mine.
He's really here. He's real. This isn't just a figment of my imagination. Zayran is here.
"Y-you... you're really here." I choke out, my chin trembling as tears threaten to spill over.
"Oh god!" I immediately throw my arms around his neck, practically climbing up his tall frame, my legs dangling.
He effortlessly catches me in his strong arms, holding me close as I bury my face into his broad shoulder and cry out, "I-I missed you so much."
I cling to him like my life depends on it. I might as well be squeezing the air out of his lungs with the way I'm hugging him so tightly, as if I'm desperate to fuse our bodies together so we could never be apart again.
Zayran doesn't seem to mind, though, as he wraps his arms around me just as tightly, burying his face into my neck and inhaling deeply, as if he's trying to memorize my scent.
I myself nuzzle my nose in his warm neck, inhaling his soothing, musky scent that wraps around me like a comforting blanket.
"I'm here, sweet cheeks." He breathes softly against my skin, placing a deep kiss on the curve of my throat.
I close my eyes, relishing the warmth of his strong body pressed against mine, his scent enveloping me, and his lips grazing my skin.
But suddenly, reality crashes back in, and my eyes fly open. I jerk back from his embrace, nearly stumbling.
"Y-You shouldn't be here. What if he knows?"
Zayran's jaw tightens as he studies my horrified expression. He lets out a heavy sigh, rubbing a hand over his face in frustration.
"Come back here." He commands calmly, and I gulp, shaking my head.
"Mirha!" He warns, and reluctantly, I take a hesitant step back into his arms. He secures his strong hold around my waist, anchoring me in place.
"This is a private island, remember? He doesn't know about this place. Just relax, okay?" He gently grips my chin, stroking it with his thumb, and leans down to plant a tender kiss on my forehead, his lips lingering there for a moment.
I shut my eyes and sigh, letting the warmth wash over me.
Yes, he's right; the sick bastard has no idea this place exists. Here, we can truly be ourselves—no masks, no pretending.
