Xie Lian looked up at the skies.
It was a great, sunny day today. The sky was brilliant blue, but there were massive-looking fluffy pure-white clouds coming up from the west, and he knew that those meant rain. It was such a great contrast – the blue, the white, and the lemon-yellow sun. It was as if his senses were too sharp, as if he found himself inside a young child's watercolor painting.
Why?
He checked himself, and he checked Hua Cheng, who was walking by his side, but had to lean over his shoulder from time to time, hiccupping comically, and he realized he was still tipsy.
This was rare, and generally – impossible. With someone as strong as he was, the so-called tipsiness only lasted a couple of minutes.
Xie Lian suddenly realized something else. The day was super nice, it was a great day for a slow walk home. But today, as it turned out, both of them were drunk, in some different degrees, and it was merely 3 p.m. in the afternoon.
- San Lang? – he mewled without having planned to sound like this.
- Ge... Ge? Uh... - Hua Cheng mumbled, annoyed that walking today was more difficult than on other days.
- Baby, let's get a cab? It will be...
He really wanted to say "safer", but the word that he blurted out was rather...
- It will be... faster.
The Beta blinked, puzzled, but then it was concern that appeared on his face.
- Are you OK? Alpha? – he asked carefully, doing his very best to get a grip, and cursing Mu Qing's damned whiskey in his head.
Xie Lian nodded, and smiled at him, but this caused a slight dizziness and his smile froze on his lips. He was most definitely not used to such sensations!
- Ughh... OK? I think I might be... a little... more tired after last night... than I thought... - Hua Cheng mumbled.
This time his husband only smiled to him. It took a lot of effort on Xie Lian's part not to let his own worry slip into his scent.
The Beta was pleased, while travelling home in the stuffy back seat of the taxi, that this time around they didn't have the talk. He was really tired of having to explain why he still insisted so stubbornly to keep to his night shifts, as those meant good money. He hoped that this kind of conversations between them were over, possibly – for good.
But as they still had some good 10 minutes to go, due to the traffic, he leaned his head over his Alpha's shoulder, snuggling into him, as well as he could, trying to make himself shorter, smaller, forever regretting his height. Xie Lian smiled, and let his hand slide over his lover's thigh, caressing over the fabric of his pants, enjoying their shared touch.
Hua Cheng purred, and turned his warm face up, nuzzling into his Alpha's neck, inhaling deeply.
- I've missed you... today. I missed your scent, Alpha... I hate to be so close... to the moron for so long... His scent is so... sharp... So... It's nothing like yours... GeGe... mmmm...
The Alpha smiled again, letting him pet him, tilting his head to the opposite side, so that he could have more space to do it – which Hua Cheng took advantage of immediately, leaning over, leaning closer, enjoying the way Xie Lian squeezed his thigh now. It meant impatience, desire, reassurance. He loved it.
- You smell too good too, baby... - he purred back, earning himself a skeptical look from the driver, who now stared at them in the rearview mirror.
The Alpha's reflexes were still sharp enough to notice this, and he wondered. Why would everyone react like this when it came to him and his San Lang? OK, Feng Xin's reaction was kind of logical, but then... this here was a stranger!
He actually thought about it, while his puppy was licking over his neck slowly. He wasn't faking it either – he truly liked Hua Cheng's scent, despite him being a Beta! Distracted now, his hand slid up, and caressed over his lover's crotch, snaking up, to touch over his belt, his belly, up to his chest, under his clothes...
It was all so fine. It was all so... hot. Sexy. Pretty. Tasty. Perfect... He was truly in love with that Beta.
Why?
That strangely-behaving Omega today had said some strange things to him, and it had knocked him off-balance. He tried to focus, his hand caressing lazily over the gentle skin, causing his San Lang to whimper with pleasure, he focused on those strange words.
I have never known of an Alpha and a Beta partnering... It is unnatural. Alphas and Betas... they do not mix... They are natural enemies... Rivals. Betas... they aim to kill the Alpha or become the Alpha.
He now turned to take a look at his lover. Hua Cheng's eye was burning, and he knew that he was getting more and more aroused, as he kept on touching him under his shirt. His hand slid to find his right nipple and tease over it, and the Beta bit his lips, stifling a moan.
- GeGe... - he exhaled, whispering, wanting.
Xie Lian noticed all the signs. It wasn't just the alcohol, no. The flushed cheeks, the shallow breathing, the sparkling eye... even one was enough for him to know, to be sure.
- You are too tasty. – the Alpha growled, as the taxi pulled up in front of their building. – I want you, Beta!
Hua Cheng shuddered all over, suddenly too sober, and ignoring the snigger that came from the front seat. He was far too used to it. But... what he wasn't used to was his husband calling him... calling for him...
- I love you, Dianxia... - he muttered helplessly, absolutely not sure how their day was going to go on, how their night was going to be.
He only knew that Xie Lian's eyes were burning too now, and tonight he didn't have to go to work.
