It was a warm night in May, and one of the windows of their bedroom had been left open that night, so Mu Qing was grateful that the Alpha had pushed all bed covers to the side, far too hot; he needed all these, because he himself felt cold.
Even though their sex life had been quite regular in the past year, and even more so after they got married a couple of months ago, and moved to live together officially officially, his pre-heat was still quite erratic. His mother had told him that it was probably just an after-effect of him getting his first heat so late. It was supposed to get absolutely regular. like clockwork... after he gave birth to his first baby.
The Omega sighed. This month he didn't feel quite good. He didn't feel quite in the mood either, and this was worse.
He appreciated it, the fact that Feng Xin had been super patient with him, but... He was starting to suspect that the problem was in him. Somewhere deep inside him.
He turned his head to the right - there he was, in all his glory. His husband, officially. Mouth open, snoring loudly, limbs messy, and hair messy, sprawling all over the big bed, and radiating heat.
The boy smirked. He looked ridiculous, but he loved him so very much.
Shivering slightly now, and still wrapped in the blanket, he now snuggled closer, aiming to steal some of that warmth for himself. Feng Xin didn't wake up, even when he pressed his face against his side, nor did he stir at all, when, later, he pressed his lips to his skin, kissing on his chest, missing him.
It didn't take too long before the willful Omega was on top of his Alpha, lying over him, too tempted to snigger at how comically he looked, but feeling his heart melt with love and devotion. Mu Qing just couldn't help it - he kissed the cheeks, the neck, the jaws... and he could swear that it was just in jest that his lips covered his lover's mouth too; yea, it was just because he wanted to stop the damn snoring.
- Uh?
The Alpha blinked faintly at the ceiling, confused, and feeling some ridiculous weight over his body that shouldn't be some annoying blanket or other. Feng Xin looked a little down, and blinked again, as he now saw his husband, burying his face in his chest, looking ashamed.
- What is it, puppy? - he mumbled sleepily. - Are you---
Mu Qing bit his lips and looked up. There was true care and concern in his Alpha's eyes; it was not a thing to be faked.
He murmured, not sure, but also - not sorry:
- I have been thinking about you tonight. I miss you... I miss us.
The taller man blinked again, now wondering what this here might be. He tried to remember the last time they had had sex, and he did, and it hadn't been too long ago.
He now grunted and pushed the lighter boy off himself with ease, leaning over him, observing his blushing face more carefully now. Mu Qing said nothing else, and he leaned in down more, sniffing him up, and making him chuckle shortly.
- Your heat hasn't started yet. - he now declared sheepishly, getting more and more awake.
The Omega smiled and shook his head "no", confirming it.
- I can't smell any horniness on you either. - the Alpha growled quietly, getting more and more puzzled after that inspection.
Mu Qing shook his head again, more serious now.
- What is it?
The Alpha now buried his nose in his husband's hair, in his neck, sniffing over his gland, on his nape, down even - to his chest, and his belly, and between his legs, checking everywhere.
Mu Qing only stirred so that he could open his legs more, with readiness, biting his lips, quiet and calm.
- What is it??? Tell me! - Feng Xin whined now, fully alert, and the boy sensed worry in his scent.
He decided to show him mercy, to some extent.
- I miss you. I miss you. Just that.
Feng Xin blinked, and then leaned in, to sniff over his mouth, over his neck too, checking all his glands all over again.
- Are you OK? - he now whispered, upset that he couldn't detect anything wrong with the Omega.
Mu Qing giggled, amused.
- It's not all in your nose, silly! You can't just rely on scents to know stuff! Why... So stupid, Alpha!
The bouncer growled again, disappointed - this was no explanation! - and just sat back in the bed, staring now.
- Should I turn on the lights? Can I get you a glass of milk, maybe? Or I could---
- Stop.
Mu Qing interrupted him, and now kneeled in the bed, close to him, looking at him earnestly.
- Nothing's wrong. I am OK. You don't have to worry. Just... I...
He now reached out, and touched the Alpha's chest with his fingertips, very lightly.
Feng Xin immediately felt his heartbeat pick up speed.
- You have been so stressed lately... I don't want that. I didn't imagine our life together like that. - Mu Qing murmured now.
- I thought... you wanted... I... - the Alpha stuttered, totally lost as to what was happening.
- I wanna have what we had at the start. I miss it. I wanna be happy with you. Just you.
Mu Qing put so much stress on his last sentence that Feng Xin finally understood.
A year ago, he would have made a tasteless joke about it. But today, he already knew that his Omega was mourning his emptiness every day, in some way or other. So, this last sentence meant a lot.
- I'm here. I'm here, with you, my One. - he whispered coarsely, and Mu Qing shuddered at the love words.
- Let me be with you tonight. Just you. - he cooed.
- Yes, Omega. I love you.
