Under normal circumstances, the Omega would have invited the Alpha into himself that night. Mu Qing had this very sweet habit of murmuring a shy:
- Alpha... do you want to... tonight... Maybe?
Not tonight. It was some silent agreement between them, and they dint need to use words tonight. There were just a few hours of the night left too, and they just cuddled, needing the rest.
Of course, it meant sleeping in the next day, and Feng Xin had vaguely heard the energetic Omega wake up and move around the house early in the morning, but it was all mid-sleep, and so he slept on for a couple more hours. Yet, when the Alpha finally woke up, he noticed two very distinct things.
One: the calendar on the wall had gone. It had been removed, and even though he searched the house later, he didn't manage to find it. He thought to ask Mu Qing whether he had perhaps thrown it away, in the trash, but he never got to it, he didn't have the heart to do it.
Well, and two: there was a small pile of blanket, stirring underneath, right over the area of his belly. He smiled – the Omega was trying to get comfortable, but didn't seem to be able to get the knack of it. Amused, still sleepy, he observed now, as the compact, overly energetic pile moved, to his left side, to his right side, sprawling over his lower body, grabbing at his waist for some support, but always staying underneath, under the covers.
He truly expected his husband to peek out of there, any minute now, for air at least, but the stubborn Omega was just quietly seeking for a way to snuggle better, yet failing to find it.
- Are you OK, under there? – he finally huffed, and grinned as the small bump froze for a long minute.
- Are you gonna come up? Are you still sulking? – he puffed now, but he had to blink quickly, his skin crawling, as he received a secret kiss over his belly, and a quick bite, to go with it, right after.
- Puppy?
Well, Mu Qing could not hide forever, that was sure. His sleepy head, together with his messy hair, now peered right out of a small opening above Feng Xin's abs, lifting the blanket up, and huffing too.
- Your lazy ass was being lazy all morning. So I decided to be lazy too! – he declared now, as if someone was going to object to it.
The Alpha sniggered:
- As if anyone would care!
- When you get hungry – YOU would care, moron! – Mu Qing yipped at him, but remained sprawled right over the Alpha's lower body, his head at the level of Feng Xin's belly.
- Well, I thought... - the Alpha hesitated for a moment, a little bit discouraged at the sight of his husband's sulky face. – I thought I'd take you to a café. Before work. For something... sweet... for... breakfast.
OK, Feng Xin had seen this move in a film, one had to be honest about it. At the time, he had found the idea EXCEPTIONALLY cheesy and stupid, not really familiar with all the romantic tropes in this kind of movies. So, he now hoped that the hormonal Omega wouldn't hiss at him again, and they wouldn't have to waste another day in just...
But Mu Qing's face lit up, and he looked too pretty all of a sudden. Feng Xin could not help but think that it was as if the sun just rose up in the sky.
- Oh, Alpha!!! – the boy murmured, and, purring, now heaved himself up, so that he could reach up and kiss the smirking Alpha's mouth. – So nice! I am... I'm hungry!!!
***
Ah, well, Feng Xin hated it: the fact that his Pa was always right. It was annoying, and in some cases – it was almost supernatural. Still annoying too.So they had their morning coffee around noon, and the hissy Omega was all smiles and purring today. And later, when they did indeed go to a café that was quite near the bar, Mu Qing immediately dropped down to sit in his lap, and ordered fruit juice for both, and four (no less!) pieces of four different types of cake.
The Alpha watched him eat, and, collecting experience, reminded himself to remember those small things that made his mate so happy, maybe even put them down in a list.
Yes, one of Feng Xin's decisions from yesterday was to try and recreate, as best as he could, the small things they did together from the period of their courting. Back then, it had been pure bliss, and pure joy, he wanted, he needed that feeling again – for the both of them.
The shift that day was nice and easy. The weather was getting warmer all the time, although the nights were still quite cool, but the sunny day had lured most people away, and it was the parks and gardens that were overcrowded that day - not the shops and the bars.
Mu Qing looked really smug, ready to brag to anyone (who'd listen) about how well his Alpha was taking care of him. Few people came into the bar that day, and neither Xie Lian, nor Hua Cheng visited either. It was just the two of them, and it was great.
- Ummm... Do you think they are in bed right now? – he joked.
- Ugh! With that shitty whiskey yesterday, I am guessing the shitty Beta is all over the toilet, puking, with the shittiest hangover ever! - Feng Xin joked back.
The Omega clicked his tongue, and now reached underneath the counter, and got yesterday's bottle out, now dangling its remaining contents in front of Feng Xin's nose. Reminded of the crappy Beta, Feng Xin immediately frowned.
- Well, guess how much? - Mu Qing grinned.
The Alpha blinked.
- Bleh... Dunno? 500, I guess? – he snapped now, not too pleased to see the smug expression of the bartender's face.
Mu Qing laughed, and the Alpha's heart skipped a beat. The scent, the laughter – all converged into one: happiness.
- Noooo, moron! Try multiplying that by... 10? 12? – the Omega quipped merrily.
Feng Xin gaped sheepishly.
- You... you mean to say... uhhhhh... - he stuttered, as now his eyes were fixed on the non-special bottle.
- Ugh-huh! Yesterday, you two idiots drank about 3000 bucks! Hahaha! And I think Dianxia... knows!
The bounce swallowed with difficulty.
- But... but... That's five of my salaries! – he mumbled now.
The Omega just nodded, too amused to see him so flustered.
Feng Xin blinked. Someone should have fucking said something, dammit!
Then he rolled his eyes.
- Dunno, don't care! I can't be held accountable! It was the loverboy who popped it open! Dianxia cannot hold me responsible for this! Ha!
And when he looked at Mu Qing again, he saw him blushing for some reason, looking and smelling...
- Ugh, come! Come here! You smell too smug! Come, I wanna taste some of that content! You smell too smug, Omega! COME!
Mu Qing giggled and slowly walked the too-familiar rout, from behind the counter, to the high stool the Alpha was usually sitting on.
- Are you... are you... really... gonna be... rolling those... hips now... Ugh!!!
The Omega smirked again, seeing his Alpha literally drool.
- Mmmmm... Don't you like it, husband? - he cooed, now standing right in front of that heat-exuding, strong and massive body.
- Come and check, Omega!!!
