Chapter 2 - INTO THE UNKNOWN

POV: 3rd person

In a certain room full of floating coffins a girl slowly awakened in one, unbeknownst to her a boy was also waking up in another one. "Nghhh, hwy do I have to wake up, couldn't I be just like sleeping beauty and just sleep forever?" mumbled our dear main character. She was grumbling all over until she heard a voice. "I better hurry up and find that uniform before someone spots me..." 'Who in all that's holy has such an annoying voice, jeez I feel bad for their parents... And is that Japanese? Thank god I learnt that language, of course I only learnt it with the goal of reading the original mangas ' Y/n heard the unknown being fumbling at another coffin. "Urgggh... This lid weighs a ton!" she heard him whine. "Try this on for size! Mya-ha!" As our protagonist heard this, she felt the room grow hotter as she began to sweat in the locked coffin. She heard some panicked mumbles, "F-fire?!"

As all that was going on, Y/n decided she waited long enough and kicked the lid off the coffin. "BWAAAH?! HEY! WATCH WHERE YOU KICK THAT THING!!" As she looked where the voice came from, she was flabbergasted. "Ewww what is that? A demon? A rat? OMG is it a raccoon?" she said in disdain and disgust to the abomination that shouldn't even be on the face of Earth. 

"Ugh doesn't matter, now to grab the goods! What?! You ain't supposed to be awake!" screamed the abomination of nature. Y/n deadpanned at the creature before setting her eyes on a boy with black hair and greyish eyes. 

"A talking...weasel?!" the boy screamed out. 'Why does everyone like to scream so much? my ears hurt because of them T-T' thought y/n as she rubbed her ears. "How... How DARE YOU! I am no WEASEL! I'm Grim, sorcerer extraordinaire! Tch. Whatever. You...human! Just gimme your uniform, and be quick about it! 'Cause if you don't...you're gonna regret it!" said the so called 'Grim'. "OKAY WE GET IT y'all like screaming now stop it before I go deaf jeez." said y/n annoyed and in pain. Both Grim and the boy gazed at her in surprise at her sudden outburst. Immediately the boy began to analyse what she looked like. H/c hair strands that fell in front of her face and framed it perfectly with e/c colored eyes matching with her glasses (the AI glasses). She wore a black robe with purple and gold accents, it was tied at the waist with a button. Underneath she wore a black button-up with what it looked like golden wings close to the neck, along with some black pants.

The boy had the same outfit on. 'Why do they look like they're in a cult?' Y/n thought before she looked down to her own clothes only to be shocked to the bone. 'WHY DO I LOOK LIKE I'M IN A CULT?!?!?!' As she mentally panicked, she had a stoick face on the outside.

The boy shook his thoughts off and mumbled something; "Getting roasted alive by a weasel? What will I dream of next?" "Well keep dreamin', 'cause I ain't no weasel!" As they had their dialogue y/n was zoning out while analysing the rest of her surroundings. She snapped out of it as the unknown boy grabbed her wrist and dragged her with him to another place while running away from the monstrosity called Grim.

As they were running like a couple into the sunset with a bit more panic, y/n looked at her surroundings, gazing at a castle-like building and a courtyard filled with a few trees. She also spotted a few paintings that strangely looked like they were alive as she felt their eyes on her and the boy. They ran into a room that looked like a library.  "If this is a dream, I'm ready to wake up now." the boy said before turning to our beloved MC. "I apologize for dragging you with me, my name is Yuu by the way", the stranger now named Yuu said. "It's no problem, I'm used to being dragged around anyways and my name is Y/n", spoke the girl as she thought back to her friends back home.

After the introduction Y/n admired the way the room looked and began taking a few steps further into the room. As she did that, the boy began hiding as he had a hunch the creature would follow, and he was right. "Foolish humans! Did you really think you could slip away from ME? Now, unless you wanna get burned to a crisp, take off that— Me-YEOW! That hurt! What gives?" verbalised Grim as he was struck with what seemed like a whip?

 "Consider it tough love", said a strange crow man. As all of this was happening y/n made her way towards the commotion. The man had black hair that looked like he took inspiration from Muzan Kibutsuji. He also had a crow mask that covered the top half of his face to his nose, hence the name 'strange crow man'. He had yellow eyes that seemed to be able to pierce into your soul if he wanted to.

"Ah, I've found you at last. Splendid. I trust you're two of this year's new students? My, were you ever eager to make your debut. And bringing a poorly trained familiar with you? That is a clear violation of the school's rules", the man said as he cut off Yuu, who was trying to explain the situation, in the process. 

"As if I'd serve some lowly human! Now lemme go!" And of course the mix of multiple animals had to speak up. "Yes, yes. Rebellious familiars always say that. Do be quiet for a bit, won't you?" the still unnamed man said as he adjusted his whip to cover Grim's mouth.

"Dear me. Of all the students I've dealt with, you're the first with temerity enough to open their own gate and step out of it. Does the very notion of patience elude you? No matter. Your orientation has already begun. Let us return to the Mirror Chamber." spoke the masked man. "Student?" "Gate?" asked Y/n and Yuu respectively.

I'm going to leave it here because I'm tired and want to sleep. I'll try to get another chapter in as soon as possible, since I also have school and exams coming up soon. I also don't have a set schedule for when I update so please just be patient :)

Also please keep the comments about 'When are you going to update?' etc. to a minimum because I don't want to be burnt out and stressed about the next chapter I'm supposed to post. Thank you for the understanding <3
