chapter 13 - the mystery letter

"We don't have time to complain. Let's go," Deuce spoke to Ace, then encouraging the rest of us to go along with him before calling out to the Dark Mirror, " Dark Mirror! Take us to the Dwarfs' Mine!"

The Dark Mirror obeyed and through the 'glass' you could already see what it looked like a bit, and damn dit it look dark.

POV: 1st person (Y/n)

I saw nothing for a moment, because it was darker than my eyes were used to. After blinking a bit, I could see how creepy it looked. It had a small river with a wooden bridge over it to cross. Trees that were shadowing the path even more and in the distance, there stood an abandoned house. Probably from the miners that worked here before it all got abandoned. It was quiet here. Too quiet. That's probably why it's called the Silent Woods.

"So this is the Dwarfs' Mine...", Deuce muttered before he continued with what he wanted to say, "Long ago, this mine was flush with magestones." We all looked around for a moment. Grim was not very amused or pleased by the looks of the forest.

"Urgh... Who knows what lurks in there now?" he said in disgust. Ace looked a bit in the distance and noticed the abandoned house.

"Look, I can see a house. Let's see what the people there have to say." 'Ace, you stupid fuck, there ain't gonna be anyone there because it's OBVIOUSLY ABANDONED' I screamed in my head. We then went a bit closer, stopping at the door. 

Deuce, being the respectful gentleman he is, knocked. As he knocked the door creaked open like one of those doors from horror movies. He called out; "Hellooo? Is anybody home...? Must be empty. It looks like it's been abandoned."

We carefully walked inside and tried to dodge as many spiderwebs as we could. Grim, however, wasn't as lucky and got a face full of it. "Bwah! I got a spider web on my face! Ptchoo! Ptchoo!" He tried to scratch it off before Yuu stepped in to help him. He carefully and gently removed the sticky silk from Grim's face while the others explored the building.

I noticed a staircase to a floor above and decided to check it out, because there was nothing important to note downstairs. As I went up, the floorboards creaked under my weight. I finally arrived to the second floor as I noticed multiple rooms with one door slightly ajar. I could still faintly hear the boys talking downstairs, but ignored them. 

I went into the room with the open door and instantly noticed how dusty it was. On the desk that was situated under the window, laid a paper, letters printed on it by likely a typewriter. I read the words, slowly, but carefully making sure not to miss a single thing.

Grumpy has been getting worse and worse with his greediness. When he, Happy, Bashful, and Sneezy dig to unearth the magestones, he sometimes snatches one for himself. Everyone saw him so it on multiple occasions and when we say something about it, we get a burst of magic at our heads.

If we aren't careful enough to not say anything about it, I'm afraid he might overblot, and when that happens, we can do nothing about it. We don't have the materials for it! I'm really worried so I just hope that nobody says something about it.
