Sierra's POV

3/6/35 May 3th 2035

It's not everyday you attend a funeral.

I hate funerals. I hate goodbyes. But, it's life...so dealing with it is probably the best thing left for me to do.

I stayed at Base for a few days until I had to leave to visit my relatives. Texas and Eden were given commissions in the form of money and they went to Las Vegas to live a little. Century went to visit Gamma's parents, while Scythe crashed at Miriam's house while she completed her University. That left Stratos and Joyce, who went to NYC.

I realized that this conflict was yet to be over, but I think we could lay low for a while.

There wasn't much we could do now. Well, there is something...

But, not now.

"You know, there isn't much you can do, but you could always stay for dinner." Scythe called behind me.

"No, I can't stay. I have nothing else to do here, I want to leave now. There's always next time Scythe." I called back. I didn't turned around. There was no need.

I left Scythe in Washington D.C., while I caught my flight to Dallas, Texas to find an old friend.

Three days later...

"Hey, I'm looking for someone. Do you know where he may be?" I asked a bartender. I sat down and bought a tab and paid in cash. I showed him a document meant for job applications. I actually met him a long time ago, but he left my circle to join his brother in Texas.

"No, haven't seen 'im." He spoke with a southern accent. I liked it...very smooth.

"Hey handsome, what's your name?" A girl slid over to my seat on my right. She's cute...but now ain't the time.

"Here's my number, call me sometime." She handed me a piece of paper. I looked at the name and realized...there's the person I'm looking.

"Actually, yes. I am looking for someone, and you know the person." I turned around and faced her. Wow...she is pretty.

"Don't have to look far Sierra. I'm here." Dallas said. Oh, there he is. Doesn't look a day over 25...

"We need you back in Washington. There has been...a few developments." Dallas waved his hand and the girl left, winking as she walked over. I couldn't stop looking at her...may need to borrow her from work someday.

He waved at the bartender and he slid him a screwdriver.

"You come here often? You seem to know your alcohol." He nodded. He took a sip and laughed.

"It's been a while, Sierra. Maybe a bit too long actually." Dallas wore a beige suit that conferred his massive build. His muscles bulged under his suit, all the while he drank alcohol like he had been doing it since he was 18.

That night I crashed at his house. Dallas had considered leaving, so placed his Deputy and vice chairman in charge of his company while he was away.

Now, there are more people joining. It would be difficult to let the next book go unnoticed.

Killing Us Slowly will be starting in three days of this part's publication (12/1/16 or 1/12/16(American)).

Please read! Thank you!
