Scythe's POV
I've been taking care of Fluffy, but he doesn't want to move more than seven inches away from my bed, so I left him there. He's cute, but stubborn in every single respect. He only eats when I'm not looking, or when I'm at training. He's still as useful as ever though, he learnt how to pounce and kill very quickly, maybe that's a good thing, but in any case, he will be our last resort.

I have practiced with my almost perfect aim on my favorite weapons, my AK-47. Although outdated, it's still my favorite.

I haven't seen Texas at all since we left the Command Room three days ago. I hope she's ok, she seems to be okay with Riot being around. I wonder if they have a history together...

Texas' POV
I didn't know Riot could be such an ass, he just called Sierra a fuck. I guess he has always been like that, and I love him for that. Anyways, I've been healing faster now, my leg has pretty much as good as new. But my arm is still the problem. I still remember my mace attacks from...Q, or should I say Gamma, but my arm hasn't healed enough to continue practice. I've been training my stamina since I've been able to, but I have neglected my mace practice.

"You know, your hand can be worth something if you actually tried to heal it by exercising it."

I turned my head, saw Gamma smirk, and I pouted. "Why are you here? Shouldn't you be practicing with Eden?"

"No, I would rather stay with you." But he didn't smile, not even a twitch. "Is...something wrong?" I asked.

"I'm just here to apologize. After that, I'll leave. Just hear me out."

I furrowed my eyebrow, and cocked one. "Why say this to me now?"

He walked toward me, placed his arm on my shoulder and whispered, "I'm very sorry, but I had to find a way to get away from my problems. After you left to serve the country, I was lost without you. I didn't know what to do until you came back."

"Well, I don't believe you." I sternly responded, his face turned into one of dejection and hurt. "After all this time, now you're telling me this? I can't accept it. I've almost lost my sanity because of you. I cried every night for two weeks since you sent that letter. Do you know how hard it was on me?!" I slapped his face. He took a step back, clutching his face.

"I...I am sorry for this Tex." he walked away slowly. I walked over to the corner, sat down and cried my heart out.

Five minutes later, someone came. "Texas? You there?"

"Go away. I want to be left alone right now..."

"Well, at least hear me out." Riot! He's here, finally. I stood up and wiped my arms on my shirt. My nose was runny and my eyes were red and bloodshot. Riot hugged me, enveloped me in his warmth, his scent overpowering me.

"I...I'm sorry you have to see me like this..." I mumbled into his chest. He brushed my hair with the gentlest of touches.

"It's okay Texas. I'll always be here. Remember what I said before, I'll always be with you even when you are the saddest you've ever felt. I will always be here for you." Ok, now he's starting to help me feel better. I looked up into his eyes.

"Thank you Riot. Thank you very much." He smiled at me, causing my knees to feel weak and butterflies to fly toward my stomach.

"No problem Texas. Anytime."

"Ahem, excuse me."

I turned around to see the general.

"Good afternoon, Riot, Texas. I need to speak with you two..."

Scythe's POV
Now I'm thinking about Miriam. Great. I tried to push her out of my mind, so I could concentrate on my training. She's definitely the best, she had been with me for a while now, she's always been supportive of me. Even when I had to come back for this crap.

She's one of those that you know she's going to be the one. She's smart, pretty, quiet, but she's has the air that you know she wouldn't like you asking her many questions. I got to know most of her friends, and she seems to be keeping herself out of trouble. She likes studying alone, but after saying yes to me and beginning her study break before her Major, she agreed to study with me. Although I don't know much of what she's doing, I can still help her with the basics.

I thought back to the first time I met her, in probably one of the most unforeseen of circumstances.

It was December 14, 2030
Scythe's POV
I was at the library revising on the history of weapons, how our civilization has grown into a nuclear state.

Beginning with the evolution is the spear and fire, we progressed to having shields, slings and crossbows, to bow and arrow, guns, germs and steel, to having the most destructive power mankind has seen since.

I yawned. 'Man, I've been here for three hours, all I've done is read out the history. Now I actually have to understand why we do such things.' I looked over and saw the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. Probably even better than my ex, who cheated on me because I was too "hard-on". Hard on on what, I have no idea.

I walked over beside her and asked quietly, "what does a guy have to do, to talk to a beautiful girl like you?" I took a stance that showed off my physique, she turned and looked at me. 'Wow, she has blue eyes, they're so pretty.'

"Excuse me, I was looking for the Mathematics section, looking for my lecturer's paper."

I smirked. "What university are you attending?" She looked at me with a look of disdain. "I'm not that old, I'm attending college, looking for a degree in Applied Mathematics."

"Which college?"

"I don't think you should know, seeing as how you just randomly started talking to me. For all I know you could be a creeper."

"Well, I can assure you I am not such a person. My friends call me Scythe." I relaxed my stance. This girl is truly amazing. "Wanna hang? I'll help you look for that paper."

She nodded. "Sure, at least there's someone helping me. I've been looking for his paper for so long..."

After we found her paper, we went out for lunch. She was busy, but she was kind enough to pay for lunch, although I protested against it, seeing as I was the male. She disagreed, saying that I had helped her, so it was only right that she paid back the favor.

I walked her back to the library, seeing as we were going to be studying, might as well do it together. "Why are you so interested in guns and stuff?"

"Male stuff. Kinda runs in the family." My family was a weapons and munitions manufacturer. I was already interested since I was born. My father was responsible for some of the arms that are supplied to the army.

We crossed the street, but a truck ran past us and almost hit Miriam, if not for my reaction and pulling her close to me. "Oh my...thanks...Scythe."

We reached the library and sat down at one of the tables. We studied and had a laugh, but the librarian chased us out after making too much noise. We sat on a bench outside the library and bonded under the light a thousand stars. "Will you stay with me?" She asked.

"What are you implying?" I responded.

"I'm quite lonely when I'm studying, my own friends want to go out shopping or looking for guys to shake up, but now I see that I'm not going to be very lonely after today."

"You know what? I think I will." I chimed.

She leaned in and hugged me. My ex has never done that before, I felt the warmth of love flood my very being. "I will stay. Stay with you..."
