"I'm leaving in three...two..." Kelly stood in her front doorway waiting for Zachary to come downstairs
"I'm coming I'm coming" Zack ran down the stairs but ended up tripping on his pants and falling down
Kelly laughed at her brother's demise.
"If that fall broke any part of my face, I'm gonna sue" Zack rubbed his nose in pain
"That's what you get for taking too long, now come on get in the car"
"Today of all days" Zack groaned
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"I gotta look good, Zackary Wilson is officially back on the market" Zack mischievously smiled
"It's only been like two weeks since you and Tatum broke up, you're already moving on?"
"Hey she started it, you saw how fast she moved on to that slimy tall friend of yours" Zack rolled his eyes
Kelly gave her brother a sympathetic smile, he really loved Tatum but because they were friends she also had Tatum's side of the story. According to her he was "too nice" and just wasn't as exciting as Stu.
"Still, you shouldn't force yourself to move on if you're not ready" Kelly squeezed her brother's arm
"Yeah yeah whatever" Zack stared out the window
The twins sat in silence for a while until Zack had another outburst of complaints.
"I mean who breaks up with someone because they're "too respectful." What does that even mean? Sorry I was raised right unlike that sleazeball Stu" Zack crossed his arms and sunk down into his chair
"I'm sorry" Kelly tried really hard to not take sides during the breakup. She completely agreed with her brother but didn't want to lose one of her best friends.
"Besides I thought he had a thing for you" Zack interrupted Kelly's thoughts
"Yeah right" Kelly forced a laugh, but truthfully she thought he did too. Her heart sunk when she saw Stu and Tatum sharing a kiss for the first time.
"Whatever, sorry for putting you in the middle of all this" Zack looked up at Kelly, returning the sympathetic smile from before.
"It's fine" Kelly stared straight ahead at the road.
"Alright enough about me, how are you and Steve?" Zack changed his tone to a teasing one
"Great, our one year is tonight" Kelly beamed
"Ooo" Zack teasingly poked his sister's arm
Kelly was once at a party at Stu's house, she tried to give him every possible opportunity to make a move. She was so sure there was something between them but she concluded it was all in her head.
She had also seen Tatum and Stu go up to his room after being on each other all night. She didn't have the heart to tell her brother Tatum was cheating on him and her reason for breaking up with him was a load of bull.
Kelly drunkenly walked out to the front steps of Stu's house, feeling sorry for herself. That's where she met Steve Orth and they have been going out ever since.
"You know, I don't know why dad officially gave you the car and I'm the one who has to get a job and buy my own" Zack broke the silence again
"Because I'm the favorite child now" Kelly proudly smiled
"Good point, can you go back to hating him?" Zack joked
"Never" Kelly laughed
In the past two years Kelly had grown to love Woodsboro. She had amazing friends and her realtionship with her father had improved severely. She was a lot kinder, not only with others, but with herself. She was once so full of anger and she would take it out on anyone. Now she had found a sense of peace and calmness, and she never wanted to feel those horrid feelings again.
"Ugh but I hate my job, I have to work with your weird geeky friend" Zack groaned
"Hey be grateful, it took weeks of begging and bribing to convince Randy to let you have that job"
"Yeah yeah, still a geek though" Zack scoffed —————————————————————————— Zack and Kelly walked into the school building together. They had first period together along with Stu and Tatum.
"Go in before me please" Zack begged
"You're being ridiculous" Kelly rolled her eyes and walked in the classroom.
Zack slightly crouched down behind his sister, trying to hide as he walked into the classroom. Tatum was sitting on top of Stu's desk, Stu's arms were wrapped around her waist.
"Ugh!" The twins shuddered in disgust at the same time. Then they both looked confusedly at each other.
Zack sat in the desk next to Kelly, which used to be where Stu sat. Stu was now sitting where Zack used to sit, right next to Tatum.
"I can't believe those two" Zack narrowed his eyes and shook his head in disgust
"Kelly! Hey!" Tatum waved at Kelly.
She hopped off Stu's desk and walked over to them, Stu was following behind.
"Oh hey" Kelly awkwardly greeted
"Hey man, no hard feelings right Zachariah?" Stu lightly slapped Zack's shoulder
"Uh huh" Zack forced a smiled and nodded
Tatum giggled and pulled a lollipop out of her mouth.
"So Kelly, what are the big plans for tonight?" Tatum turned her attention to Kelly
"Oh uh I don't know, Steve said it was a surprise" Kelly shrugged
"Aw isn't that sweet, right Stu?" Tatum elbowed Stu
"The sweetest" Stu said in a mocking tone
"I think it's time to go back to your seats now" Zack mumbled
"What was that Zachariah?" Stu raised his eyebrows and cupped his hand around his ear, pretending he was trying to listen.
"Knock it off Stu" Tatum giggled, she lead them both back to their seats.
Stu turned around and subtly winked at Kelly. Kelly quickly looked away and started nervously playing with her pencil.
Zack, on the other hand, was gripping his pencil so tightly it broke.
