A/N: Chapter six! I hope you have been enjoying it. I love writing this fanfiction! Vote and comment!

Kili rode towards the Orcs. His heart was pumping rapidly, and he tried to come up with a plan to get through as safely as possible. The eagles would dive constantly, and Kili was worried about that. What if they attacked him and not the Orcs? What if the Orcs attacked him?

"Calm down, and just ride through," He muttered to himself.

He was getting closer. He could feel the wind that the eagles were making with their wings; it was powerful. A couple times the wind almost blew him off his horse. His horse was slowing down as the wind got stronger. It couldn't go as fast with wind this big. Kili prepared himself for the worst. Soon he was galloping through the crowd of Orcs. Eagles dived down near him; they took out a couple Orcs to his right. His heart felt like it stopped. An eagle began to dive down towards where he was. Kili urged the horse to go faster; it tried, but the wind was making the horse distressed.

Suddenly a powerful force came down on him, and he was thrown off his horse. The ground was not a pleasant landing. He heard one of his ribs crack. Kili let out a deafening cry. He dared not open his eyes, for he knew Orcs would be close to him. The pain was unbearable. He just wanted to be in safety already. He wanted to be with Tauriel. Why did he not ask for Tauriel to come with him? He was so stupid.

"Get him!" An Orc shouted.

Kili flinched as he got picked up, but it was no Orc that picked him up. It was an eagle. Kili opened his eyes, and was instantly dropped. He didn't scream; he knew there would be another eagle below waiting to catch him. He was right. He sat up on the eagle, and looked over the crowd of Orcs. His horse unfortunately did not survive. It was being torn to shreds at that moment by two Orcs. Kili hoped that the eagle would carry him far before dropping him off. No horse meant lots of walking.

He saw the middle of the range. The eagle screeched, and then dove towards the path.

Kili had been trying to learn how to speak the language of the eagles. All he got though as the eagle was dropping him off was, "I can't." He couldn't decipher anything else. Then it rode off in the direction it had come. It was probably going to kill more Orcs. Kili was glad he wasn't killed back there.

The path was dim, and there were no trees surrounding it. Animals scurried across the damp floor, and hissed if they saw Kili. Kili started to stroll into the forest. He liked any kind of forest. Even these dark forests, were exciting for him. Kili enjoyed adventure. A thrill was there every time something happened. Even that Orc and eagle attack, was exhilarating.

He heard distant calls as he made his way further into the forest. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, yet. Soft bird tweets echoed throughout the forest, and beady eyes in the pitch black darkness followed him. The path seemed to not have been used in years. It possessed many rocks, leaves, and dead animal carcasses. Kili would kick at some of the smaller stones. They rolled, and smacked into logs that had fallen long ago. Moss blanketed a portion of the path; Kili disliked the feel of moss. It was wet and slimy even if he had boots on. With his sword he upturned a lot of it, and relocated it to the lining of the path. The moss would hold tiny insects that would make suicide jumps to the ground every time Kili upturned some of it.

He wondered how long the path was when the sun began to rise, claiming it to be the brink of dawn. He didn't think he had walked that far, and for that many night hours.

Animals began to scurry out of their home in search of food for breakfast. Kili also felt his stomach growl from hunger. He knew he should eat even though that would mean stopping and searching for food. His hope was vanishing as he thought about the throng of people heading faster than he towards Rivendell. Rivendell would have no warning. They would be utterly over taken. He screamed and kicked at a pebble. It skidded down the path. He did that many times before he proclaimed that standing kicking stones was not what one would do if a kingdom was in danger.
