Moving On

69 When I Say It's Over

   Days had turned into weeks and weeks had turned into a month. A lot of events had occurred over the time span. Megan was in rehab . I had gotten my new salon car and apartment. The apartment happened to be closer to where Megan was in rehab so I knew I would be visiting her very often. Selen and Brad had gotten a new place too; they were moving in together. Morgan and Prix still weren't dating but they were working together now and he kept texting me constantly. He was almost always paying us visits too. Selen pointed out that he probably believed we still had another shot at continuing our relationship but I didn't know if I wanted that.
Today , I was very happy because my mom and Ciara were visiting. They had never been to Florida and it would be nice for them to see my roommates and friends.
" Okay mom ,whatever you say" I chuckled on the phone and then ended the call shortly after. She and Ciara were already in a cab on their way here.
She was bragging of things Canada had that Florida didn't seem to and I just rolled my eyes at her ranting.
Not long after ,the door bell finally rung and Selen left Brad's side to get the door. She still stayed over sometimes and I did too. We still hadn't decided who we wanted to give the apartment to and I was hoping I could convince mom and Ciara into moving here. I knew it was farfetched as they had a life back at Vancouver but I could try. I hugged them when they walked through the door and Ciara followed me into the kitchen. She wanted to help with whatever I was doing in the kitchen.
" Don't worry, I'm almost done here. "

" Turkey? Smells good" She said and poked at the pan it was in. She was lucky it had cooled down.

" Please" I said frowning at her and she chuckled .

I helped them to a meal and Selen immediately started a conversation with Ciara.
When they were done eating , my mom came to sit next to me on the couch and I hugged her like the fifth time.
" I'm happy you're here" I confessed.

" Me too,dear. How are you?"

" I'm not doing bad. Now you're here , can you just stay?"

" Stay? I don't understand "

" I have a new apartment now. Selen is moving in with Brad. We want to give this apartment away and we were thinking..."
I frowned when my mom laughed in my face .
" What's funny ? You don't like it here? . It's not as bad as you think."

"Sky, it's not like that. Ciara has a man back at home and I have work now . I can't .."

" Oh okay" I said understanding

" Thanks for the offer though. Anyways, how is Morgan?"

'We ..broke up" I said and pursed my lips

" I see . "

I raised an eyebrow
" You see ? You're not going to say you saw it coming ? "

" I did see it coming. It's just not worth saying . The important thing now is you aren't stringing him along anymore. But hope you guys are okay?"

" We are " I nodded.

" Good . So why didn't you tell me ? That Allen was around already "

" What makes you think that? I chuckled

" If Allen wasn't around , you wouldn't be broken up. You would have made it work, I'm sure. Sky i know when you love, you love with all your heart. Unless Morgan cheated on you , what exactly would make you be single right now "
I laughed and she laughed too at how she had caught me red-handed.

" Yeah Allen is around . I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I just wanted you to think and believe that I had control. That he couldn't have a hold on me"
My mom held my hands and looked at me with all the love in her heart .
