Pizza and Problems

Jace Alec and I were now walking the streets of New York, looking for a pizza place. As one might imagine, pizza is a commodity in NY.

"Hey, that's a pizza place over there!" Jace said, seeing the bright neon sign which read "New York Pizza". Very original.

"Yeah I suppose. We don't have time or an alternative" Alec said

"Okay. Lets go!" I said

When we got there, it was relatively quiet. There were 2 men sitting in a booth near the back of the restaurant.

"Seems decent enough" whispered Jace to Alec and I

"Yeah" I blatantly replied

We walked up to the counter to be greeted by an ordinary looking man.

We then proceeded to give our orders, and the man said it would take 15 minutes to give it to us. So we just sat down in one of the many booths spanning across the wall.

"I am now beginning to get uneasy. Something isn't right. I feel it. In my gut. And I never deny a feeling from my gut" said Jace, in barely a whisper.

"You don't say. The thing making me uneasy is the 2 guys sitting in the back booth" Alec whispered back

"Why? They seem harmless enough" I told Alec

"I have a theory they're not as harmless as they look" Alec muttered

"What could they be then? If they were demons, we could tell, but they seem normal enough" I stated

"True. It might not be them, but something about this place unnerves me."

After our discussion, there was silence. We sat for another 5 minutes when they were called up because their pizza was ready. Jace paid the man, took the pizza and we got up and left.

A few minutes in the walk, after the idle chit chat we'd just been at, I heard an out of the ordinary noise.

"Guys, wait. I heard something odd" I told them

"Take out your seraph blade just in case" Jace said, taking his own.

Crap. I forgot mine.

I'll be able to whip some demon ass without a seraph blade anyway.

Then from the shadows emerged the two men who were at the booths stood in front of us. They stood stiffly, their faces blank.

"Do not run shadowhunters. Or we will have to kill you" they said in a monotone voice.

Then they slowly started to transform into hideous creatures with snake like eyes and talons.

"Not if we kill you first" Jace muttered, leaping for the demon

Low and behold, the demon was faster than Jace, punching him square in the jaw, knocking him out cold. Crap. One man down.

Alec went for the demon, still distracted with Jace and stabbed it in the back. It crumpled to the ground and evaporated into ash.

The second demon was still unharmed from battle, and it went for Alec and slashed his arm with its talons. Alec howled in pain and gripped his arm: which was now bleeding heavily.

Then the ugly thing set its snake eyes on me. I'm a goner. This time there is no Jace to rescue me, and Alec's injury is too bad to fight with. As if on cue, I heard a thump behind me: Alec had fainted, probably due to blood loss. 

As it advanced towards me, I froze with fear. This was the first time in a long time I had felt fear.

It was a meter away now, cocking its head and giving an awful grin

"It's just you and me Shadowhunter. What are you going to do now? That's right, nothing." It rasped.

And then I realized.

Alec was behind me, and he had HIS seraph blade.

So I ran away from the demon, and grabbed Alec's blade from his unconscious body. He was now lying in a pool of his own blood. That can't be good. And as I turned around, the demon was a meter away. It lunged towards me and it almost got me: if I hadn't of driven it into its stomach. It howled in pain, doubling over, holding its stomach.

And I mockingly told it:  

"What are you going to do now? That's right, nothing."

If looks could kill I thought, as it looked up at me with the most horrible of stares, and burst into ashes.

But now I have another problem: Jace and Alec are down. And I doubt they can get back up.
