Attacker in the Sanctum

We've got 5 days. It felt like yesterday when we were preparing in the hall and throwing knives.

The Shadowhunters who we have now called the "Inner Sanctum" have been preparing. They've spread the message to Melbourne, London and Jace has even managed to warn those in Idris with the same message everywhere:

"The Silent Brothers have foreseen through a dream there is a impending apocalypse. Take arms and prepare yourselves for November 29th: And don't take any chances"

I woke up this morning and looked at myself in the mirror, and I'd noticed how much I'd changed. My hair was in its signature long plait, but I have turned old in my eyes, and I look warn down.

But I will troop on.

Georgia and Ava are sharing my room, so we've bonded a fair bit. I know that they have both lost a parent to demons, like I have. Georgia her mother, and Ava her father.

That made me furious, so when this thing comes, I'll make sure it burns in hell.

"Hey, Imogene!" I hear someone yell out, interrupting my forever running inner monologue.

It's Jack

"Yeah, what's up?"

Jack I'd also gotten to know. He has both parents, who are coming down here to help when it all happens. Pretty much everyone is coming, so we can defend ourselves to the fullest extent. Jack was kind and probably the life of the group along with his partner in crime, Riley.

"Do you know where Jace is? I've been looking for him, he left his stele on the bench in the kitchen" Jack said

There were two things wrong with that sentence.

A. Jack hasn't seen Jace, which is highly unusual because they're good friends and

B.  Jace never leaves his Stele anywhere. It's always with him

But I'm not going to jump to conclusions yet.

"When did you last see him?" I asked Jack, trying to sound casual

"Sometime this morning. He said he was going to do something, but I didn't really ask about what he was doing"

"Okay. We could have a slight problem" I said

"Hm, maybe. Where could he be?"  Jack replied

"Anywhere"

We sent out Alec, Riley, Isabelle and Jack to try and find Jace.

Meanwhile, back in the institute, Myself, Georgia, Ava and Matt had some spare time. We all sat in my room doing nothing

"What you you want to do?" I said, throwing a dart at the dartboard. Bullseye

"What about we have a knife throwing competition?" Matt suggested

"That's a good idea" Georgia immediately agreed.

I swear, there is something up with these two!

"Yeah, I mean we have nothing better to do and we're not going anywhere" Ava stated

"Let's go then"

We got up and walked to the training room, which was a bit colder than usual. I didn't notice anything wrong.

I went to get my favourite knife. Short and sharp, perfect for a deep lodge in a demon's chest.

We all stood parallel to a dummy, knives in hand.

"On your marks, go!" I yelled, everyone releasing their knives.

Mine lodged straight into the heart of the dummy. I smiled to myself.

I then looked at my opponents work.

Matt had lodged it in the second inner ring, which he could never have done a week back.

Ava had missed completely. But that's okay I  suppose.

Georgia thought had equalled my throw, a nail in the bullseye of the dummy.

"Get your knives!" I yelled

We walked over to get our knives, when I thought I heard a shuffle from the back of them

"Did you hear that?" Ava said

"Yeah, I did" I replied

Then it jumped out.

It flung itself out from the back of the dummies, straight at Ava. She dodged, but it managed to claw her back. It came back and bit her arm savagely.

She howled in agony, and fell to the ground.

This thing is a werewolf. A savagely evil one at that.

I threw my knife at it as fast as I could, nailing it in the side of its rib cage. It yelped in pain and fell on the ground

It lied dying in a pool of blood, each breath more ragged than the previous.

Once it had died and morphed back into a human.

And I couldn't believe who it was.

I called Isabelle immediately.

"Isabelle, even if you haven't found Jace, you all need to come back here now. It's urgent"
