I stood over Alec, helpless since we all had glamour runes. The blood flow had slowed, but by now Alec was as pale as a sheet of paper.
He's dying.
Maybe Jace has a stele, I thought, because Alec did not.
I ran over to Jace and things were just as bad on his end. He lay there, with a black eye and a cut cheek. It wasn't bad as Alec, but it would still need treatment. And just my luck, Jace had no stele. Alec was dying, and I couldn't do a thing about it. Isabelle is literally going to kill me.
So what I did next was totally out of character for me. I sat by Alec, and let one tear roll down my cheek. He was even more pale than he was before, and it wouldn't be long before he would stop breathing.
I put my thumb on Alec's wrist, and I could feel a small, fading pulse. It would only take minutes, she thought.
Then I heard footsteps. I whipped around, and grabbed Alec's seraph blade beside me. I stood up warily, and what I saw next was odd. It was a regular-ish looking guy, with hair spiking in all directions. But something gave away what he really was: Catlike eyes, glowing yellow in the dark street. He had to be a warlock.
"Help me. Please. He's dying"
I told the warlock, gesturing towards Alec.
"You're lucky, nephlim. I will help you, but I cannot guarantee it will save him."
"Thank you so much. What's your name?"
"My name is Magnus Bane, high warlock of Brooklyn. Pleasure to make your acquaintance" Magnus said.
He walked over to Alec and I, and quickly examined him because he knew as well as I did, there was no time to loose. He then proceeded to do some warlock magic, and it gave Alec some colour back, and slowly, Alec's eyes opened.
"ALEC!" I cried, wrapping my arms around his waist. Thank the angel. He's alive, I thought.
"Im- Imogene?" He said hazily
"It's me Alec! I thought you were going to die!"
"What happened?"
"You were attacked my a demon, slashed in the arm. You passed out from blood loss and almost died. If it wasn't for Magnus" I said, looking at him.
"He saved your life Alec."
Then Alec said "Thank you so much Magnus. I literally couldn't have lived without you"
"Anytime" Magnus said.
"Where's Jace? Has he gone back to the institute?" Asked Alec.
Jace. Oh by the angel I forgot about Jace!
"He's knocked out cold a few meters away, if that's your guy" Magnus said, rather bored.
"Jace is out cold? Go help him! I'm okay now, I'll just stay here." Alec said.
"Well I can't do much since he's out cold but if you insist" I said walking over to Jace.
"I can help with that too" Magnus stated, following me over to Jace. He was still out cold, his black eye had gone down slightly though
Magnus one again did his warlock thing and Jace woke up.
"What the actual fu-"
"Jace. It's me Imogene."
"Who's Imogene?"
"Jace, that's me!"
"Who's Jace?" He asked, curious.
"That's you." I told him.
"Alec, get over here!" I yelled to him
He came over and bent over Jace.
"Jace? It's me Alec. Your Parabatai."
"Parabatai? What's that?"
"I'll explain later. Imogene we should really get him back to the institute. He need to clear up his memory loss"
"Clearly" he said sarcastically. Even after he's lost his memory, he can still make a witty remark. If he was at the top of a volcano and he jumped in, he'd say how the lava was too hot for his liking.
So we got him up, and Alec, Jace and I walked back.
"Oh and Magnus"
"Yes?"
"If you ever need a favour. Call us. We owe you that much"
"Thank you." Said Magnus, and disappeared into the dark streets of New York.
