CHAPTER - 5 (50%)

~~ The Next Day  ~~

Kamol prepared to meet Chen alone, as they had agreed. However, Ivan had secretly placed a GPS tracker on Kamol's shirt button. This time, Ivan would not step in to assist, as he wanted Kamol to handle it himself, considering it a farewell gesture.

"I'm confident you will handle everything well," Ivan said in a flat voice.

"I've never disappointed you, you know that. As for Danil..." Kamol said, trailing off to gauge Ivan's reaction.

"I know Danil has caused you trouble, but I need that kid. I want to return safely," Ivan said calmly, and Kamol understood that this was an order.

"I will definitely bring him back for you," Kamol replied. Ivan nodded in acknowledgment before Kamol set off to meet Chen, his enemy, alone. But he already had a plan in mind. Kamol met with Chen and negotiated for Chen to release Danil along with Kim, but Chen chose to let Danil go first because he wanted to use Kim as leverage against Kamol, knowing that Kim was the one Kamol loved. Once freed, Danil brushed off the ropes binding his hands and approached Kamol while glaring intensely at him.

"You've crossed the line too much," Kamol said in Russian.

"Yeah, whatever I do is always wrong. Instead of blaming me, why don't you find a way to help Kim?" Danil retorted sarcastically.

"I'll help, but you'd better be ready too," Kamol replied.

Danil furrowed his brow slightly.

"Why? Do you have a plan?" Danil asked back.

"Stop speaking in that alien language. I can't understand anything. Sign this set of documents, Kamol," Chen interrupted. Kamol turned and picked up another set of documents, signing them immediately. Chen took the signed papers and looked satisfied.

"Very good," Chen said.

"Now release Kim to me," Kamol demanded. Chen smirked because he had no intention of letting anyone go from there, and Kamol wasn't foolish enough not to realize that someone like Chen would play tricks.

"Tiger!! Aaaahhh!!!" The roar of a tiger echoed through the jungle, mixed with the loud cries of Chen's henchmen guarding outside.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Gunfire intermingled with the roars of large animals.

"What the hell is happening?" Chen asked in shock. Danil was equally surprised. Chen's men inside the house were also fidgeting with curiosity and fear.

"We're in a forest, aren't we, Mr. Chen? It's not unusual for animals to wander around," Kamol said with a smile.

"Danil, deal with your left flank," Kamol instructed in Russian, signalling to Danil that he would have to put in more effort, and the fight began. Danil took on Chen's men, while Kamol followed Chen, who was taking Kim back into the house. After a while of fighting, Danil and Kamol's men handled the outside situation until it was all sorted. The sounds of tiger roars and cries from people could be heard intermittently until Kamol returned with Kim to Danil.

"What happened to you, Kim?" Danil rushed to ask.

"I have a little bump on my head," Kim replied weakly.

"Stay back, Danil," Kamol said in a firm tone. Danil pressed his lips together before reluctantly backing away.

"Are you okay, Danil?" Kim asked with concern. Danil forced a smile.

"I'm fine," Danil replied.

"We can head back now. The cleanup crew should take all the bodies back to the house and burn them completely," Kamol ordered calmly before leading Kim to the car, with Danil following behind.
