CHAPTER - 14

"Hm.. and how will Danil know?" Anna asked with a trembling voice.

"That's the question I'm trying to answer," Ivan replied. He asked Obi to investigate once more how Danil could have found out about this.

"Do you think Danil is waiting for us to tell the truth?" asked Edik, as worried as Anna. Although Danil was not their biological son, they both loved him deeply, as they raised him since he was a baby.

"Yes, but I don't want Mom and Dad to tell him now. I want to talk and see how Danil is reacting before that," Ivan suggested. In fact, he wanted to resolve things between him and Danil first. Ivan believed there was more to this situation than he knew.

"Ivan, talk to your brother calmly. I don't want Danil to hate us," Anna said, especially concerned about Danil's feelings.

"I don't think Danil hates us, but he might be hurt and resentful. Otherwise, when he found out the truth, he would have come to us to question us in anger. But instead, Danil said nothing and is trying to distance himself. Maybe he is blaming himself or devaluing himself," Edik commented, with the same seriousness as his wife.

"Don't worry, Mom and Dad. I'll talk to him," Ivan promised. Edik squeezed Anna's hand lightly, knowing how distressed his wife was. Ivan stayed to talk to his parents for a while longer before saying goodbye, as he had other work matters to attend to.

"Karev, in two days you're going to Puma. I don't want to waste any more time on this," Ivan said. He believed that Puma could clarify some doubts that were bothering him.

"Yes, sir," Karev replied promptly.

"Ah, boss, tonight Mr. Nilson wants to schedule a meeting to discuss the new batch of goods," Karev informed, as the contact had been made by Mr. Nilson's team. Nilson.

"Do you have any time for me tomorrow? Make an appointment with him. I'm not available tonight," Ivan replied. Karev frowned in confusion, as he was in charge of Ivan's schedule and knew there were no appointments.

Ivan postponing a business meeting just to have dinner with Danil was something completely unexpected. Before, he would never do something like that. However, they both knew not to question or show curiosity about it.

On Danil's side, he rested until the end of the afternoon. After getting up, he took a shower, changed his clothes and went down to the ground floor of the mansion, looking for some of the servants.

"Hey, is Ivan back yet?" Danil asked the maid who was approaching him.

"Not yet, sir, but the butler informed me that he should be here in about half an hour," the maid replied respectfully.

"I got it, thanks," Danil replied, before Leaf approached.

"Would you like something to drink or a snack?" Leaf asked politely.

"No, thanks. I'll wait to have dinner with Ivan. But I want to take a walk around here in the meantime," Danil replied.
