The pain of love

After the call, Roy calm down and hung up the phone walk back to the bench and sat down covering his face,
"Sir..."
Maria had the urge to try to cheer up her superior but Denny stops her,
"2nd lieutenant...let's go back to headquarters."
Maria takes one last glance at Roy and nods, as they both leave the doctor comes out after check out Riza,
"Doctor, is she okay?"
"She'll live, she just need rest right now, we already took care of her injuries."
"Thank god, um...can I go see her?"
"Yeah, of course, room 463, sir."
Roy gets up from the bench and starts speed walking to the room Riza was in, a little later he found the room.
Slowly he grabbed the doorknob and quietly turned it,
"Riza?"
Roy walked in casually, looking for Riza's chocolate eyes, but she was still resting, hearing Roy's voice her eyes opened,
"Roy?"
Roy grabs a nearby chair and sets near the bed, and sighs,
"Thank god your okay..." "Did you know how worried I was?"
Riza smiled reassuringly,
"I'm sorry, sir, forgive me."
"You are forgiven."
He places his hand on Riza's as their fingers intertwine, and give each other a good squeeze.

The day Edward made it to Central Maria and Denny were waiting for him at the station,
"Edward-Kun!"
"Lieutenant Ross!"
"Come we'll drive you to the hospital."
They all exited the station and headed for the car, Maria opened the door for Edward and he awkwardly entered,
"Sergeant Brosch!"
"It's been a lot of days since then, how have you been Edward-Kun?"
"Good enough, so you guys don't have to watch over me."
Maria entered the car hearing what Edward said,
"That's funny, Edward-Kun."
Denny started driving, after a little while they all entered the hospital room, and caught Roy and Riza holding hands.
Roy slowly let go of Riza's hand while blushing,
"T-Thanks for coming, Ed."
Ed holds out the bag to Roy the bag has the pie Winry was talking about,
"Here, Winry wanted to treat you guys to her 'famous' pie."
"Oh, how nice of her."
Ed places it in Roy's hands as he places it on the counter next to him.
Edward walks to the other side of the bed,
"Lieutenant, are you okay?"
"I'm fine, Edward-Kun, thanks for coming."
"Good, I should go call Winry, I bet she's been anxious the whole time, worrying about you and stuff, he left the room nervously laughing, Edward knew this could be true but he really just wanted an excuse to leave those two alone.
Maria and Denny got the same idea,
"We'll go and uh..."
Denny tried to find some words as he gently nudges Maria, she blurts out a random excuse,
"Uh...we'll go and rest for the day, good work today, sir!"
They both salute and exit the room, leaving the two together as planned.
Roy looks over to Riza,
"You should get some rest like the doctor said..."
"Yeah, maybe I should, good night."
"Yeah, night."
Roy stands up, fixes Riza's hair so it's not in her eyes, and grabs the bag and leaves the room.
So much for excuses.
