48. Claws

You came into my life like fresh rain
And you dug your claws into me
Stamping me as your property
You owned me
And after you abandoned me like trash
My lungs begged for breath
Nightmares haunted me night after night
My spirit died and I wanted to cut
I wanted to die
Then
I healed
And healed
But still bear the mark of fresh, lingering
Heartache
When will I heal?
When will life be worth living for?
