The next day, lucy got a goodmorning text from tim as she was heading out of her house. She texted him back on her way to her car. Her phone got connected to her car so she called him.

They chatted all through her drive to her office. She ended the call as soon as she walked in to sign in. she got to her desk and was called soon for a brief meeting.

Grace, lucy's boss, and other senior agents told lucy about an award ceremony for their bravest FBI agents and she was nominated for two awards, the medal of valor award and shield of bravery award.

Medal of valor: awarded for exceptional bravery and heroism
Shield of bravery: given for acts of bravery in the line of duty

After they told her the whole room started clapping for her.

Lucy: thank you so much
Grace: no agent chen, thank you for honoring your job and making the city safer one step at a time
Lucy: ill continue to do my best

Lucy was dismissed soon after. She went back to her desk and Natalia came running

Natalia: lucy chen, the woman you are
Lucy: hey nat
Natalia: I heard and I want you to confirm
Lucy: heard what?
Natalia: you are getting awarded?
Lucy: where did you get it from?
Natalia: I said I heard obviously I was snooping
Lucy: yes its true

Natalia hugged lucy and screamed

Natalia: im so proud of you
Lucy: you are?
Natalia: yes, im not a monster
Lucy: well thank you, but lets not spread it
Natalia: definitely

Natalia left.

It was after lunch and lucy was bored at work so she left her desk to go to the quiet room. She fell asleep on the desk until her phone started buzzing. It was aaron.

Lucy: hey aaron
Aaron: omg did I wake you?
Lucy: just dozed off but youre good
Aaron: sorry about that
Lucy: whats up?
Aaron: I wanted to invite you to my country club this weekend it will be nice to have you around
Lucy: oh? Whats happening there?
Aaron: just a party, some of the police officers I work with and I usually have mini parties
Lucy: oh wow, that sounds fun
Aaron: yeah it is, and tim never comes so maybe he will come this time
Lucy: do you want tim to come or me? (laughs)
Aaron: omg no (laughs) no lucy I want both of you to come and plus, his sister is in town so he will probably bring her too
Lucy: well it sounds fun, just text me the location, is there a dress code?
Aaron: anything you wear is already classy
Lucy: wow (laughs) okay aaron thanks again for the invite
Aaron: you are welcome, have a great shift
Lucy: you too

Lucy hung up and went back to her desk.

After shift lucy went back home and was hanging out on her couch watching tv when tim called her and told her he wants to come over. She told him to come. she stood up and checked her fridge if she had drinks and she did so she went back to her couch.

Tim came after 34mins and lucy welcomed him in.

Lucy: hello tim
Tim: hey (hugs her) I missed you today
Lucy: oh?
Tim: yeah
Lucy: how is your sister
Tim: she is good, and highly jetlagged, she told me to say hi to you
Lucy: me?
Tim: yeah
Lucy: she knows me?
Tim: she knows about us
Lucy: yeah but what is us?
Tim: what do you mean?
Lucy: we act like we are dating but are we?
Tim: I mean, I wanted to take you out and ask you properly
Lucy: cute, but I don't need properly
Tim: okay so, I could have asked this whole time?
Lucy: yes timothy
Tim: even right now?
Lucy: especially right now
Tim: hmm why?
Lucy: I want my boyfriend to watch me accept my awards
Tim: awards?
Lucy: I got  nominated for two awards
Tim: wow, lucy (hugs her) that's amazing
Lucy: thanks tim
Tim: okay, lucy chen...
Lucy: yes
Tim: do you want to be my girlfriend?
Lucy: what kind of question is that? Yes!!!

Lucy and tim kissed and went over to her couch and made out. They hung out for a bit until tim later left.

Lucy was finally in a relationship with this amazing guy she met at a crime scene who was not friendly but eventually realized his mistake and apologized.
Three days later.

It was night time, lucy was at tim's house getting ready for aaron's party.

Tim: do we really have to go?
Lucy: of course! And this is our first time out with friends as a couple, this is gonna be great
Tim: great for you, they are gonna tease me the whole night
Lucy: how so
Tim: they are gonna say something along the lines of "oh tim is capable of love"
Lucy: then ill reply "he definitely is"
Tim: well it will be good to show you off
Lucy: aww stop it, cmon lets get going
Tim: okay sure
Lucy: what time does your sister get back?
Tim: maybe 10
Lucy: aww, I wanted to meet her
Tim: don't worry you will, very soon
Lucy: oh yeah?
Tim: very much so
Lucy: well whenever it is, I cant wait
Tim: me too, you're gonna love her and she is definitely going to love you

(they kissed)

Tim drove them to the party. There were some cars parked outside and they were all for their friends. Tim held lucy's hand as they walked in. lucy was anxious about how they might perceive her, being an FBI and all, but she already knew two of tim's coworkers/friends so it was good.

They got to the table and angela couldn't stop smiling at them. Angela stood up and greeted lucy and the rest of the gang said hello to her. They knew her because they have seen her before and few only heard of her. The people present were;

Westley
Nolan
Jackson
Angela
Aaron
And then tim and lucy.

When lucy sat down she saw westley and said hi to him too, she didn't expect him to be there also.

Lucy: westley evers, we meet again
Westley: wow, agent lucy chen, I did not think it was you when they said tim got a girlfriend its so nice to meet you again
Angela: wait you two know each other?
Lucy: yeah, we met for a case once, your boyfriend is a rockstar lawyer
Westley: actually, im her fiancé now
Lucy: even better, congratulations on your engagement
Angela: thanks lucy, and congrats to you and tim
Lucy: thank you (smiles)

Lucy's anxiety faded away when she realized how fun all of them were. She didn't understand why tim barely hung out with them when he clearly has fun when they do hang out.

Aaron: so guys, lucy chen here was nominated for two awards
Lucy: aaron!
Nyla: that is amazing, congratulations
Lucy: thank you

Everyone congratulated lucy

Jackson: so lucy, please tell us how aaron was undercover
Aaron: no, lucy please no
Lucy: sorry aaron, I think I need to tell them
Nolan: yes please
Aaron: nuh-uh
Lucy: he was so tired of it immediately we got there
Jackson: I told you dude, you aren't cut out for detective, join swat!
Nolan: or become a TO
Lucy: I didn't mean he didn't do a great job, he was not used to it and eventually he got better
Jackson: I had faith in you bro
(everyone laughs)
Aaron: yeah yeah, I just wonder what happened to that girl though
Lucy: yeah me too
Tim: what girl?
Aaron: we met her at the park, so down to earth
Angela: what happened to her?
Lucy: she has an abusive cousin I think? He is always bossing her around and apparently he sold drugs
Aaron: yeah and when she told us that, she immediately ran off and told us to forget she told us
Lucy: then after that we heard loud banging coming from their apartment and the next day..
Aaron: they moved
Westley: wow, that is crazy
Nyla: I know right
Tim: I wonder where she is now
Lucy: my thought all the time
Aaron: I hope she is safe
Lucy: yeah
Jackson: well, I want to dance
Nyla: suddenly I do too
Angela: lets go to the dance floor guys
Tim: hmm
Lucy: cmon
Nolan: yeah tim join us
Tim: no!
Westley: yeah I think ill sit this one out
Angela: no way
Westley: fine! Lets go
Nyla: yay, lucy are you coming?
Lucy: sure okay

Lucy and the others went to the dance floor and started dancing. Tim was sitting down with his arms crossed waiting for it to be over. Lucy noticed him and went over and pulled him to the dance floor. She told him to dance but he didn't want to. He told lucy he wants to go back to his seat so she nodded and let go of him. He went back and sat down and was sipping his drink. Angela stopped dancing, looked at lucy and looked at tim and went over to him.

Angela: why are you so boring?
Tim: im not boring, I just don't like dancing
Angela: hell, I saw you dance at your wedding and your sister's
Tim: you said wedding so
Angela: tim what is wrong with you, do you want to blow up your relationship before it starts?
Tim: it has already started and besides she doesn't mind
Angela: yeah right, of course she minds, she just wont show it
Tim: its just a stupid dance
Angela: yeah, and next youll say something like its just a stupid birthday party, her birthday then everything else is stupid
Tim: what are you getting at?
Angela: lucy is an amazing lady who wouldn't take you for granted, you start avoiding what she wants and you can say goodbye to her soon
Tim: no!
Angela: yes, so stop being like this an go dance, besides, it's a stupid dance anyway (smiles)

Tim stood up and joined lucy to dance. She was happy he came over. The song was later changed by aaron to a slow song and the couples present danced slowly while jackson and Nolan copied them from behind.

Lucy had a blast that night. The night came to an end and it was time for everyone to go home.

Lucy: hey aaron, thanks again for inviting me
Aaron: anytime sis, im glad you came
Tim: should we get going?
Lucy: yes sure, bye everyone

All: bye lucy
Nyla: it was nice to meet you
Angela: ill see you around, don't be a stranger
Lucy: I wont (laughs) goodnight


Tim took lucy back to his house and lucy took herself home.

The next day was a Saturday and lucy and other agents got an email detailing the award night ceremony. She remembered about her awards and the only thing she could think of was what to wear.

She got up and went into her closet starring at her dresses while eating cereal. She eventually dropped it and started trying some on. Because of how busy lucy makes her life, she hardly went out with some of those dresses. She barely had any time for friends or family to even think about going out. But having met tim and his gang, she knows damn well they will be sticking around.

She tried on at least seven dresses including the one she wore on her date with tim. she still couldn't decide so she got dressed and went shopping yet again.

She went to the same clothing store she went to the other time and gave them a hint of what she was going for. They pulled out a few options and also introduced her to their fashion designer who can sketch her the dress of her dreams. Lucy was rich and can buy anything she wants so she went with the fashion designer option. She texted tim where she was and he offered to come over but she disagreed and told him she wants it to be a surprise.

She met with the designer and they were talking for almost 10mins until the final drawing was presented to lucy. She was amazed by the drawing and couldn't wait for the dress to come out ready. She left after paying half the price and headed back home.

The whole day was just her and tim texting and being on a phone call.

In the evening, tim brought over take out for them and they hung out for a bit.

Lucy: how long is your sister going to be in town for?
Tim: maybe two more weeks, why?
Lucy: can she come to the award ceremony also?
Tim: I mean if you will have her sure why not
Lucy: great, id love to meet her
Tim: id love for you guys to meet too
Lucy: what are her likes, I don't want to disappoint her
Tim: youre good, but she loves her kids so much, she loves baking and swimming
Lucy: where are her kids?
Tim: with their dad, she didn't want to bring them along, she said its her holiday and that she needed a break
Lucy: wow (laughs) I wonder what its like having kids, I was barely with kids ever
Tim: well, I guess me too, but I had genny as a younger sister so I guess her and her kids and other than that I don't know
Lucy: whats it like for you growing up
Tim: my whole childhood or with genny?
Lucy: everything
Tim: well, it wasn't always sunshine, I had my sister and my mom, but mostly my sister, we were each others rock you know
Lucy: and your dad?
Tim: nah he sucked
Lucy: im so sorry
Tim: its okay, what about you, what was life like being an only child
Lucy: torture, im pretty sure I was a mistake (laughs)
Tim: wait, don't say that, why would you say that?
Lucy: I have a step dad
Tim: oh
Lucy: yeah, my bio dad is somewhere out there probably doesn't know I exist or maybe doesn't give a damn
Tim: hey cmon, well im sure your mom was great
Lucy: mm no, sometimes yes, but worse when I chose to become a federal agent not a therapist
Tim: wow, im sorry babe
Lucy: aww you called me babe, anyways, its whatever
Tim: are you still in contact with them?
Lucy: yeah I am, we are good, just the whole them trying to make me leave my job that gets on my nerves
Tim: have you told them about your awards?
Lucy: not yet
Tim: its in two weeks
Lucy: I will find time to tell them
Tim: great
Lucy: but it also means they will meet you too
Tim: I did not think of that
Lucy: (laughs) oh tim, you will do great
