Two days later, lucy was called in for a fitting. She went in and saw the upper part of her dress was in the works and it was already looking gorgeous. She tried it on and they checked if there were some adjustments needed to be made. Everything was perfect. Lucy left the store shortly after and that was when it hit her, she needed a purse and some new shoes.

She went back home and again stood there starring at her closet. She kept lookin at her shoes then to her bags and then back to the shoes again. She paired a bag to a pair of shoes to see which one goes best. She didn't like wasting money on things so she just got a pair to match a purse she has never used before and was kind of satisfied.


A week and some days has passed and lucy was getting ready for the award ceremony. Her dress arrived a day before and boy was she in love. She kept screaming as she looked at herself in the mirror. She did check if she shoes and purse matched but the shoes didn't match. She just gave in and told herself she will just wear it like that.

She took a long nap in the afternoon to prepare her for the night. After she woke up, she took a bath and started getting ready. She wore a robe as she was doing her skincare and makeup. She heard a knock on the door and checked, it was tim. she opened the door and saw tim looking extra hot.

Lucy: my my, who is this?
Tim: thanks, you clean up good too
Lucy: tim its just a robe, come on in

Tim walked into her house and she led him to her room. He sat down on the bed as she went to change.
lucy wore her dress and came out for the big reveal. Tim's jaw dropped, he was amazed

tim: you supermodel, gorgeous, ever so elegant and wow
lucy: nice mix of words babe
tim: im speechless, you look wow!
Lucy: thanks babe

Tim stood up and went in for a kiss but lucy stepped back
Lucy: no, lipgloss
Tim: I don't mind
Lucy: I mind
(they both laugh)
Lucy: okay fine but on the cheek
Tim: (kisses her on the cheek)
Lucy: thank you
Tim: (whispers) I cant wait to take this off you
Lucy: hey! I thought you liked it (smirks)

The mood was ruined when tim's phone started buzzing. It was aaron.


Tim: hello?
Aaron: hey tim, I just picked up your sister
Tim: okay great, are you headed there now?
Aaron: not yet, I have to pick up angela
Tim: what happened to westley?
Aaron: he might not make it
Tim: okay sure

Tim hung up
Tim turned back to lucy and was just admiring her.
Tim: im so proud of you babe
Lucy: aww tim

Lucy hugged tim tight then went back to getting ready.
Tim: hey I have to get something from my car real quick
Lucy: sure

Tim walked out of her room and pet kojo on his way out then went to his truck and took out a box and headed back in.

He walked into the room.

Tim: I got you something
Lucy: omg whats that?
Tim: open it
Lucy: okay...


Lucy took the box from tim's hands and sat down on her bed and opened it. It was a pair of glamorous heels.

Lucy: shut up!
Tim: you like it?
Lucy: no tim, WHAT! I love it!!!
Tim: that's great
Lucy: oh tim, my baby, thank you an wow, it goes better with my dress that the other pair I was gonna wear
Tim: right?
Lucy: you have eyes for fashion, you should quit being a cop and be a fashion enthusiast
Tim: I guess I should (laughs)
Lucy: thanks again, I love this so much, you are so cute
Tim: you are welcome! Now can we get going?
Lucy: help me put these on first
Tim: sure.


Tim helped lucy put on her heels and helped her get her things and take them to the car and they left after that.

When they got there it was kind of packed. Lucy went to her guests table. She invited;
Nyla, westley, angela, jackson, Nolan, aaron, and tim's sister. Another table was her parents and some other family members.

She went over to her parents first with tim and introduced him to them.

Lucy: mom, dad, this is my boyfriend, sergent tim Bradford
Tim: its nice to finally meet both of you
Patrick: nice to meet you too
Vanessa: a pleasure
Lucy: we will go now, the event will soon start
Vanessa: sure

Lucy and Tim started walking away
Tim: they seem nice
Lucy: yeah right, I told them to be at their best behavior
Tim: (laughs)

They went over to their friend's table
Angela and nyla came over to Lucy to say hi.

Angela: Lucy you look amazing
Lucy: thank you, you look great also
Angela: thanks girl
Nyla: utterly gorgeous
Lucy: thanks nyla, and thanks for coming guys
Jackson: of course Lucy
Aaron: anytime
Lucy: where is genny?

Genny walks up to them
Genny: here

Lucy turned around and looked at genny. She gave her a bug smile and went over to hug her.

Genny: it's nice to finally meet you
Lucy: and I you, you look great
Genny: I look great? Look at you, like a supermodel
Tim: I told her
Lucy: thanks genny, please enjoy the event, I have to go sit down with the rest
Genny: sure

Lucy held Tim's hand, smiled and walked to where her co-workers were sitting. Rob saw her and stood up to hug her.

Rob: you look amazing!!!
Lucy: thanks rob, where is Natalia?
Rob: "omg rob you look great too"
Lucy: you always wear suits but sure, you look great too
Rob: oh why thank you, and Natalia is running late, something about her dog sitter
Lucy: omg she has a dog too?
Rob: apparently
Lucy: wow, we should have a dog play date
Rob: mmm
Lucy: jokes
Rob: hm, come sit
Lucy: yeah okay


The event soon started with entertainment, then speeches then it was time for the awards. Lucy's anxiety was almost off the roof but she remembered that Tim told her if she ever feels super anxious she should think of her happy place. She kept thinking about her and Tim and back to kojo. Her amazing boyfriend and her lovely dog.


Lucy's name was called eventually and she collected one, and she was called again and collected the other one. The whole room was clapping. She was so happy to be recognized for her work. Tim looked so proud. Genny saw him smiling and smiled looking at both of them.

Genny: I'm so glad to see you happy
Tim: yeah, me too
Genny: you are so lucky to have her, and she is lucky to have you too
Tim: thanks genny
Genny: anytime



After the award ceremony was over, people started eating. Lucy was able to escape her many co-workers congratulating her and went over to her parents table.

Vanessa: my baby girl
Lucy: (confused)
Patrick: we are so proud of you
Lucy: are you sure?
Vanessa: yes Lucy, why wouldn't we be?
Lucy: because you always tell me to quit my job
Patrick: well I guess we accept it now
Lucy: mhm okay great
Vanessa: but Lucy, a police sergeant?
Lucy: there it is, is he also not good enough?
Patrick: we don't know that yet, but we just accepted your job, now you are dating a police also
Lucy: you do know we are doing the same thing right? Protecting and serving?
Vanessa: we know, but...
Lucy: but what? You know what? I don't care what you think about my job, my boyfriend or whatever, I like Tim, I might even love him, he cares about me so deeply and I love my job so much, and I'm not changing anything in my life because I want to please you two
Patrick: Lucy chen
Lucy: please enjoy the party and goodnight

Lucy was about to storm off when she saw tim close to where she was. She froze for a bit.

Tim: hey, are you okay?
Lucy: im not okay, can we get some fresh air?
Tim: yes sure

Tim took lucy outside and she was pacing up and down until tim grabbed her arm and pulled her into a hug.

Lucy: why do they always have to be like this?
Tim: Im sorry lucy
Lucy: this was meant to be a great day for me
Tim: it is babe, just forget about what had happened
Lucy: (sigh) okay
Tim: and thanks for standing up for me
Lucy: always

Lucy and tim went back inside and lucy introduced tim to some of her close co-workers, even Natalia

Natalia: oh oh, something smells official
Lucy: yeah
Natalia: im so happy for you, and congratulations champion
Lucy: it feels so weird getting complimented by you
Natalia: what can I say, rob changed me
Rob: it's a working progress



The night was almost over and lucy and the others were exhausted. They danced, drank and had much fun. Lucy suggested they go back home so tim dropped her off with genny and then they went back to tim's.
