Chapter 48 A hole that will be hard to fill

Orko and Dree Elle had been trying for a while to have a baby. But so far no luck. They were wondering why they weren't having any success. "I don't understand," Orko said. "We have been trying for about year to have a baby, yet we keep being denied," he said.

"You don't think there is something wrong with me do you?" Dree Elle asked.

"I don't know," Orko said. "I am worried if we will ever have children," he said.

So they decided to head to Trolla to be seen by a special healer. The Trollan healer ran all kinds of tests on Dree Elle to see if there was problem. Dree Elle was worried she might have infertility issues. After the tests were done the healer came to them. "Okay I got Dree Elle's results and she doesn't have any infertility issues," the healer said. "She can get pregnant and everything about her is normal," he said.

"That is a relief," Dree Elle said.

"Then is our timing off?" Orko asked.

"That might be it, but I also want to run tests on you Orko, sometimes it is the male who has the problem with getting the woman pregnant," the healer said. "Because both men and women can have infertility," he said.

"Okay," Orko said. Then Orko went through a series of tests to see how he was doing. Orko was wondering if everything was alright. They were staying on Trolla longer than planned at the moment. Then the test results came back and they were with the healer again to get the results.

"I got Orko's test results, and I am sorry to say Orko you are the one with infertility problems and you can't have children," the healer said.

Orko was in shock he can't get his wife pregnant it was horrible. Orko felt like breaking down but he was worried about embarrassing himself. Some tears came in view and Dree Elle hugged him. "Are you going to leave me?" Orko asked.

"I would never do that Orko," Dree Elle said gently. "You are the love of my life," she said. She kissed him to prove the point.

They started to head back to Eternia. Orko was very upset and once back home he just sat down in the garden under his favorite tree and closed his eyes. He was feeling very sad. Dree Elle could see at the moment he wanted to be alone. She entered the palace and the others greeted her. "You were gone longer than expected, how did it go?" Marlena asked.

"I got my test results and I am perfectly able to get pregnant and I don't have infertility issues," Dree Elle said. "The healer decided to do tests to see if everything was alright also for Orko and to make sure our timing was just off," she said. "But Orko's test results, he is the one who can't have children, he is sitting in the garden under tree he is very upset," she said. "I recall on Trolla he thought I might leave him, but I told him I would never do that he is the love of my life." She said. "I never seen him this upset," she said. "I have seen him very upset before for many reasons, but this is most upset I have seen him," she said. "It hurts me to see him like this," she said.

"Poor Orko," Teela said.

"He must be taking it pretty hard," Adam said.

"I figure he might be taking it hard," Man at arms said. "That type of news is like a punch in the gut," he said. He was feeling sympathy for Orko's situation. 

"I feel bad for him," Damien said.

The ringbearers came. "We are looking for Orko there are somethings we need to do now that he is back," Azron said.

"Now is not a good time," Dree Elle said. "Orko and as you know have been trying to have a baby, but we found out I can have children, but Orko was told he is the one who can't have children so he is very upset," she said.
