Yoongi was working on lyrics in his studio, deep in concentration, when he heard a loud, piercing scream echo through the house. His heart leaped, and without thinking, he dropped his notebook and bolted down the hall toward the sound. The screams were coming from their bedroom.

He flung the door open with a bang and saw his husband, Seokjin, crouched on the bed, hands clutched around his knees, eyes wide and filled with terror as he stared intently at the floor.

"Yoongi, get him out of here!" Seokjin cried, his voice shaky with urgency, relief flickering across his face as he saw Yoongi at the door.

Yoongi quickly scanned the room, trying to spot whatever intruder might have set his husband into such a state. "Who, Jin?" he asked, his voice filled with concern, his eyes sharp and alert.

"He was here a second ago," Seokjin whispered, looking nervously around the room. "He must have gone under the bed to hide when he heard me scream!"

Without hesitation, Yoongi grabbed the baseball bat he kept behind the door for emergencies and, with cautious steps, approached the bed. Lowering himself slowly, he peeked underneath, ready to face whatever danger lay in hiding. But there was nothing there. He straightened up, casting a confused glance at Seokjin.

"Baby, there's no one under the bed," he said gently, trying to reassure him.

Seokjin's eyes widened, his gaze darting around the room. "Then where did he go?" he murmured, visibly distressed. He looked at Yoongi, desperation in his eyes. "Yoongi, you have to find him. What if he comes back?"

Yoongi felt his heart soften as he saw the genuine fear in Seokjin's face. He climbed onto the bed beside him and wrapped his arms around him, pulling him close. "Did he hurt you, baby?" Yoongi asked softly, running a hand down Seokjin's back to calm him.

"No," Seokjin replied, his voice a little steadier. "I jumped on the bed as soon as I saw him and screamed. He must have gotten scared and run away." He hugged Yoongi tightly, still trembling a little.

Yoongi stroked his hair soothingly, glancing toward the door. "Don't worry, sweetheart. I'll find him. But-how did he get into our house? Or even onto our property? I need to call the security company. I can't believe someone could sneak in like this." Yoongi's voice was filled with determination. "Do you remember what he looked like?"

Seokjin shuddered, his arms tightening around Yoongi. "Oh, Yoongi, he was horrible! So creepy. Just thinking about him gives me chills. I swear, I'll have nightmares about him tonight... probably for many nights to come."

Yoongi hugged him closer, heart aching at how rattled Seokjin was. "It's okay, baby. I'm here now, and I'll make sure he doesn't come back." He pulled back slightly and looked into Seokjin's eyes, smiling reassuringly. "Let's call the police so they can catch him quickly."

To Yoongi's surprise, Seokjin's eyes grew wide with shock. "Wait-why would we call the cops...for a cockroach?"

Yoongi's brain stuttered to a halt. He stood perfectly still, just staring at Seokjin, trying to process what he'd heard.

Seokjin tilted his head in confusion at Yoongi's frozen expression. "Is something wrong, sweetheart?"

Yoongi let out a long, deep sigh, then rested his forehead against Seokjin's. "So... you were screaming... because of a cockroach?" he asked, needing to confirm.

Seokjin nodded earnestly. "Yes, honey! You know how much I hate them. And it was huge," he added, his face scrunching in disgust as he shivered at the memory.

Yoongi stared at him, torn between disbelief and amusement. He took a calming breath, remembering to keep his voice gentle. The last time he'd raised his voice, he had unintentionally made Seokjin cry, and Yoongi still regretted it deeply. From that day on, he had vowed to stay calm with him, no matter what.

Seeing Yoongi's conflicted look, Seokjin leaned forward, pressing a soft kiss to his nose. "What's wrong, sweetheart? Are you tired? I keep telling you not to overwork yourself. You never listen to me. What if you get sick, huh? Then who'll protect me from cockroaches?" he scolded, a pout forming on his lips.

The corners of Yoongi's mouth twitched into a smile as Seokjin's scolding melted away his frustration. His tiny bit of annoyance faded entirely, replaced by the warmth of seeing his husband's cute expression. He lifted a hand to Seokjin's cheek, stroking it tenderly, and leaned forward to kiss him. Seokjin responded with a gentle, sweet kiss, and they held each other close, the tense atmosphere dissipating.

Pulling away but keeping their foreheads together, Yoongi whispered, "You really are going to be the death of me, you know that?"

"Huh?" Seokjin blinked, looking adorably confused.

"Nothing, baby." Yoongi chuckled. "I'll get some bug repellent for your cockroach friend. You go rest in the other room till I take care of it."

Before Seokjin could protest, Yoongi climbed off the bed. Knowing Seokjin wouldn't set a foot on the floor until the room was safe, Yoongi slipped his arms under his husband and lifted him in a bridal carry.

Seokjin squealed, clinging to Yoongi's shoulders. "Yoongi! You don't have to carry me," he protested, but he held on tight nonetheless, casting wary glances at the floor.

"Oh, yes, I do," Yoongi replied, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "You think I'm leaving my beautiful husband at the mercy of his greatest enemy?" He gave Seokjin a gentle squeeze and kissed his forehead.

Seokjin's face softened, and he nuzzled into Yoongi's neck. "Thank you, sweetheart. You're my hero," he murmured, his voice filled with gratitude.

Yoongi carried him to the guest room, setting him gently on the bed. "Alright, you wait here. I'll go back and make sure your little friend finds his way out."

As he turned to leave, Seokjin grabbed his hand. "You'll be careful, right?" he asked, his voice full of genuine concern.

Yoongi couldn't help but laugh softly. "I'll be fine, Jin. I've fought tougher battles than this," he teased, giving his hand a reassuring squeeze.

Seokjin let go reluctantly, lying back against the pillows as Yoongi left the room. He smiled as he heard his husband grumbling faintly in the hallway, "Can't believe I'm hunting down a cockroach for him..."

A few minutes later, Yoongi returned, bug repellent in hand, wiping his hands with a sense of accomplishment. "Mission accomplished," he declared, holding the spray bottle as if it were a trophy.

Seokjin beamed, reaching out for him. Yoongi joined him on the bed, pulling him into his arms, and Seokjin cuddled close, burying his face in Yoongi's chest with a sigh of relief.

"You're really the best," Seokjin murmured, his voice soft and content. "I don't know what I'd do without you."

Yoongi pressed a kiss to Seokjin's hair, his heart swelling with love. "I'd do it a thousand times over, just to keep that smile on your face."

They lay together, Seokjin finally relaxed and safe in Yoongi's arms. As they drifted off to sleep, Yoongi whispered, "Next time, let's call the security team-for the cockroach alarms."

Seokjin giggled, swatting his arm playfully. "You'll regret that joke when it brings friends."

Yoongi tightened his embrace, chuckling softly. "Then I'll protect you from every single one of them."
