Jungkook parked his car, smiling to himself as he grabbed the box of Seokjin's favorite pastries from the passenger seat. He'd been late leaving the office because of traffic, but he knew the treats would make up for it. Seokjin loved surprises, and Jungkook couldn't wait to see that beautiful smile light up his boyfriend's face.

The smile faltered, however, the moment he entered their apartment. It was dark and silent-unlike the cozy, welcoming warmth Seokjin usually created. Switching on the lights, Jungkook placed the pastries on the counter and made his way to the bedroom.

When he opened the door, he found Seokjin curled up on the bed, the blanket pulled up to his nose. His boyfriend's face was peaceful, his lashes resting delicately against his cheeks.

Jungkook couldn't help but smile as he crouched beside the bed. Leaning in, he pressed a soft kiss to Seokjin's forehead.

"Hmm..." Seokjin stirred, his eyes fluttering open. "Kookie?"

"Sorry, baby. I didn't mean to wake you," Jungkook whispered, brushing a hand through Seokjin's soft hair.

To his surprise, Seokjin sat up abruptly, crossing his arms with an exaggerated huff. His cheeks puffed, and his lips were set in a pout. "Why are you late?"

Jungkook blinked. "Late? Jinnie, it's only-" He glanced at his watch. "6:32."

"And what time do you come home every day?" Seokjin shot back, narrowing his eyes.

"6 PM..." Jungkook said cautiously, sensing trouble.

"Exactly!" Seokjin snapped, throwing the blanket off dramatically. "You're half an hour late, Jungkook! Half an hour! Do you know what kind of thoughts ran through my head?!"

Jungkook bit back a laugh, trying to keep a straight face. "Baby, it was just half an hour. Traffic was bad, and I stopped to get you your favorite pastries-"

"Pastries?" Seokjin's eyes narrowed further, his voice dripping with mockery. "You think pastries make up for me sitting here alone, imagining all the ways something terrible could've happened to you?!"

"Jinnie, I-"

"No! Don't 'Jinnie' me!" Seokjin threw a pillow at him, which Jungkook caught easily. "You don't understand how hard it's been!"

"Hard?" Jungkook repeated, confused.

"Yes! I was waiting, starving, and all I could think about was you not coming home! And now you stroll in here with a box of pastries like nothing happened?!"

"Okay, okay," Jungkook said gently, setting the pillow aside. He reached for Seokjin, who stubbornly swatted his hands away.

"I'm not done!" Seokjin exclaimed. "You've been ignoring me lately, Jungkook. You barely text during the day, and now you come home late? Do you even love me anymore?"

Jungkook's jaw dropped. "Jinnie, what are you talking about? Of course, I love you!"

Seokjin sniffled, his pout deepening. "You don't act like it."

"Baby..." Jungkook moved closer, cupping Seokjin's cheeks in his hands. "I'm sorry if I've been distant. I didn't realize I was making you feel this way. I love you more than anything."

Seokjin blinked, his resolve crumbling slightly. "Really?"

"Really," Jungkook said firmly, pressing a kiss to his forehead. "You're my whole world, Jinnie."

Seokjin huffed, leaning into the kiss but still crossing his arms. "Fine. But I'm still mad at you."

"That's fair," Jungkook said with a chuckle. "How about I make it up to you? We can watch your favorite movie and eat pastries together?"

Seokjin considered this, his pout softening. "And you'll give me a back massage?"

"Anything for you," Jungkook promised.

The next morning, Jungkook woke up to the sound of Seokjin rummaging through the fridge. When he entered the kitchen, he found Seokjin eating pickles straight from the jar, his expression oddly focused.

"Good morning, baby," Jungkook greeted, rubbing his eyes.

"Hmm," Seokjin grumbled, not looking up.

"Are you... eating pickles for breakfast?" Jungkook asked, confused.

"Yes," Seokjin said sharply, glaring at him as if daring him to comment further.

Jungkook raised his hands in surrender. "Okay, okay. Just checking."

Seokjin suddenly paused, his eyes narrowing. "Wait. Why are you looking at me like that? Do you think I'm weird?!"

"What? No!" Jungkook exclaimed, holding back a laugh.

"Liar!" Seokjin huffed, putting the jar down with a loud thud. "You think I'm acting strange, don't you?"

"Baby, you've been a little moody lately, but I just thought-"

"Moody?" Seokjin gasped, placing a hand on his chest as if Jungkook had mortally offended him. "I am not moody, Jungkook! You're moody!"

Jungkook sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Jinnie, I didn't mean it like that. You've just been... different. And I'm worried about you."

Seokjin's glare softened slightly, but he still looked annoyed. "I've just been tired, okay? And hungry. And-" He suddenly froze, his eyes widening. "Oh my gosh."

"What?" Jungkook asked, alarmed.

An hour later, they sat on the bathroom floor, staring at the positive pregnancy test.

"Kookie," Seokjin whispered, his eyes filling with tears.

Jungkook pulled him into a tight hug, his heart racing with joy. "We're going to be parents, Jinnie."

Seokjin sniffled, burying his face in Jungkook's chest. "I can't believe it. No wonder I've been so emotional lately."

"You're not moody," Jungkook said softly, kissing the top of his head. "You're perfect."

Seokjin pulled back, giving him a watery smile. "You're lucky I love you."

Jungkook laughed, brushing the tears from Seokjin's cheeks. "And I'm going to spend the rest of my life showing you how much I love you back."

Seokjin rested his hand on his stomach, a radiant smile spreading across his face. "We're going to be a family, Kookie. The happiest family."

Jungkook nodded, his heart full to bursting. "The happiest."
