The rehearsal room was buzzing with the sounds of exhausted breaths and squeaking sneakers on the hardwood floor. The Bangtan group had been practicing their new choreography for hours, the rigorous routine pushing them to their limits. Each member was drenched in sweat, fatigue visible on every face, but no one seemed to struggle as much as Seokjin.

Despite his usual cheerful spirit, Seokjin was moving slower, his face flushed and glistening with perspiration. He wasn’t one to complain, often hiding his exhaustion for the sake of his younger members, but today, his body seemed to be betraying him.

“Alright, from the top!” their choreographer called out.

Everyone dragged themselves into position, forcing smiles and stretching out their limbs for yet another round. Just as the music started, though, a sudden, sickening thud echoed through the room.

Seokjin had collapsed.

The others whipped around, hearts racing, as they saw Seokjin lying on the ground, motionless. Jungkook, the youngest but the one closest to Seokjin in every way, was by his side in an instant. Dropping to his knees, he gently cradled Seokjin’s head in his lap, patting his cheek, his voice trembling.

“Hyung… Seokjin-hyung, wake up. Please…” Jungkook’s voice wavered as he brushed the damp hair from Seokjin’s forehead, his hands shaking. “Someone, get the medic!”

Namjoon knelt beside them, his face pinched with concern. “It’s okay, Jungkook,” he murmured, though his own hands betrayed his nerves. “He just fainted from exhaustion. It’s nothing serious.”

But Jungkook wasn’t convinced. His eyes glistened with unshed tears, and he clutched Seokjin’s hand tightly as if afraid to let go. “Hyung, please,” he whispered, the words barely audible.

Moments later, their personal doctor arrived, checking Seokjin’s pulse and breathing. “He’ll be alright. It’s just exhaustion,” the doctor assured, glancing at the worried faces around him. “Let’s take him to the clinic on this floor. We’ll give him an IV and let him rest.”

Without hesitation, Jungkook slipped his arms under Seokjin, lifting him effortlessly in a bridal carry. The others looked on, a mixture of relief and worry in their expressions, as Jungkook cradled his boyfriend close, his face still etched with worry. Even unconscious, Seokjin looked peaceful in his arms, like he belonged there.

As they reached the clinic, the doctor quickly hooked Seokjin up to an IV drip, adjusting the flow to replenish his fluids. The room fell quiet as the others waited outside, but Jungkook remained by Seokjin’s side, pulling up a chair and clasping his hand.

It had been a long road to this point, one filled with stolen glances, nervous laughter, and hesitant touches. Jungkook could still remember the moment he realized he was in love with Seokjin. They had been on tour, sitting on the hotel rooftop, admiring the night sky. Seokjin had laughed at something silly, his face bathed in moonlight, his laughter contagious and full of life. It was in that moment that Jungkook’s heart had felt something it had never felt before—a warmth and a longing that went beyond friendship.

Seokjin had confessed first, stumbling over his words and blushing profusely. Jungkook could barely process it, overwhelmed with joy as he wrapped Seokjin in a tight hug, promising to protect him forever. And now, here he was, struggling to keep that promise as he waited for his boyfriend to wake up.

Jungkook’s thoughts were interrupted by a faint groan. He looked down to see Seokjin stirring, his lashes fluttering before he opened his eyes. Seokjin’s gaze was unfocused at first, but then he looked up, his lips curling into a soft smile as he saw Jungkook.

“Jungkook-ah…” he whispered, his voice hoarse. “Did I…worry you?”

Jungkook choked out a laugh, wiping at the tear that had escaped down his cheek. “Hyung, you scared me half to death,” he admitted, leaning down to press a gentle kiss to Seokjin’s forehead. “You really need to take better care of yourself.”

Seokjin’s smile grew, and he squeezed Jungkook’s hand weakly. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you.”

The doctor cleared his throat gently, signaling the others to enter. Namjoon, Hoseok, Jimin, Yoongi, and Taehyung gathered around, all wearing relieved smiles now that Seokjin was awake.

“Seokjin-hyung, you really gave us a scare,” Jimin murmured, his voice soft but laced with fondness.

“I’m sorry, guys,” Seokjin replied, sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck. “Guess I pushed myself a little too hard.”

“Yeah, you think?” Yoongi huffed, crossing his arms with a smirk. “Maybe let the maknae take care of you for once.”

Jungkook shot him a look but couldn’t hide the faint blush dusting his cheeks. He turned back to Seokjin, his eyes soft and earnest. “Hyung, please. You’ve always taken care of us. Let me take care of you too.”

Seokjin’s eyes softened, and he reached up to cup Jungkook’s cheek. “Alright, Jungkook. I’ll try not to overdo it. But only if you promise to stay by my side.”

Jungkook grinned, holding Seokjin’s hand to his chest. “I’m not going anywhere, hyung. Not now, not ever.”

The others exchanged knowing smiles, their hearts warmed by the tenderness between the two. They had always known Jungkook and Seokjin shared something special, something that went beyond words, and seeing them together like this only made that bond more evident.

As they left the clinic, arm in arm, Jungkook whispered to Seokjin, “When we get home, I’m making you the biggest, healthiest meal ever. And then you’re going straight to bed, got it?”

Seokjin chuckled, leaning his head on Jungkook’s shoulder. “Yes, sir.”

They walked back to their dorm, Seokjin leaning on Jungkook as he regained his strength, a comfortable silence settling between them. Jungkook’s heart felt lighter, grateful beyond words for the man beside him.

When they reached home, Jungkook kept his word, preparing a simple but nourishing meal. After they ate, he tucked Seokjin into bed, staying beside him until he fell asleep. As Seokjin drifted off, he mumbled, half-asleep, “Thank you, Jungkook… for everything.”

Jungkook pressed a kiss to Seokjin’s forehead, whispering, “Anything for you, hyung. Always.”
