It was 3 a.m. when Hoseok finally returned to the dorm. He was exhausted, both physically and emotionally, after another long, grueling night at his studio. His latest lyrics-his fourth attempt-had just been rejected. Each draft he'd submitted with so much hope was met with disappointment, and tonight, it was hard not to let the frustration sink in.
Quietly closing the door behind him, Hoseok sighed, rubbing his temples as he shuffled into the dimly lit living room. There, he noticed Seokjin asleep on the couch, the soft glow of the TV illuminating his face. A tired smile tugged at Hoseok's lips; his sweet boyfriend had waited up for him.
He moved closer, reaching out to brush a gentle hand through Seokjin's hair, then leaned down to press a tender kiss on his forehead. The touch stirred Seokjin awake, and his eyes fluttered open, a soft smile blooming as he focused on Hoseok.
Seokjin (sleepily, but with a warm smile): "Hoba... you're home."
Hoseok (hugging him, his voice soft): "Yeah, baby. You should have slept in our room. Your neck's going to hurt now."
Seokjin (still holding him close): "I missed you."
That simple admission eased some of Hoseok's tension. With a grateful look, he let Seokjin guide him to the kitchen, where Seokjin heated up some dinner. They sat close at the table, and Seokjin fed him tenderly, each bite filled with care. Hoseok couldn't help but smile, feeling the worries of the day start to melt away under Seokjin's gentle gaze.
Seokjin (holding out a spoonful): "Eat up, Hobi. You need this. It'll help you feel better."
Hoseok (sighing): "It's not the food that's helping me, Jin. It's you."
Seokjin's eyes softened, his hand reaching to squeeze Hoseok's. They didn't need many words; Hoseok could see the love and understanding in Seokjin's gaze.
After dinner, Hoseok took a hot shower to unwind further, letting the steam soothe his sore muscles. When he joined Seokjin in their bedroom, they both lay down, their limbs entangled under the warmth of the blankets. Hoseok nestled into Seokjin's embrace, feeling more grounded, more at peace.
But Seokjin could tell something was wrong; Hoseok's usual smile was absent, his gaze distant. Instead of pressing, Seokjin wrapped his arms around him more tightly, nuzzling into his hair as he whispered.
Seokjin: "I believe in you, baby. Whatever's troubling you, I know you'll get through it and come out stronger. I love you, Hobi. Please don't stress too much. Remember, I'm always here for you. We all are."
Hoseok's chest ached with gratitude. He blinked, feeling his eyes grow misty. He pulled Seokjin even closer, kissing his temple.
Hoseok (voice thick with emotion): "You have no idea how much I needed to hear that. Sometimes... I just feel like I'm falling short. Like I'm failing at what I love most."
Seokjin (lifting his hand to Hoseok's cheek, gazing at him steadily): "You're not failing, Hobi. Every artist goes through this. You're so talented, and I know-everyone knows-that you're going to make something beautiful. Don't doubt yourself, okay?"
Hoseok: "You always know just what to say. It's like you're my..."
He trailed off, smiling shyly, and Seokjin's lips quirked up in a soft smile.
Seokjin (teasing): "Your what?"
Hoseok (grinning through his tiredness): "My remedy. You always know how to heal me when I feel broken."
The memory of how their relationship had started drifted into Hoseok's mind. He chuckled, leaning back to look at Seokjin, his mind flashing back to their early days.

Flashback: Practice Room
It was during their debut days. They'd been spending late nights in the practice room, training and rehearsing, trying to perfect every move. Seokjin, though a dedicated learner, often struggled to keep up with the choreography, and it weighed on him. Hoseok, as their lead dancer, noticed the extra effort Seokjin was putting in.
One evening, Seokjin had approached their choreographer, shyly requesting additional lessons. Hoseok watched as their choreographer became increasingly touchy, a hand lingering on Seokjin's arm, a smile that felt too familiar. It didn't sit right with Hoseok. When he saw the choreographer's hand lingering on Seokjin's waist during a dance move, he'd had enough.
Without thinking, he walked over, placing a firm hand on Seokjin's shoulder, pulling him gently but protectively away.
Hoseok (coldly to the choreographer): "Thanks for the help, but I'll take it from here. I'll teach him, as many times as it takes."
The choreographer, a bit startled, mumbled an excuse and left, leaving Seokjin blinking up at Hoseok in surprise.
Seokjin (amused): "Didn't know you were that possessive, Hobi."
Hoseok (blushing, but smiling): "Someone's gotta look out for you, right?"
They practiced alone that night, repeating the moves until Seokjin felt more confident. When they finally stopped, both were drenched in sweat, breathing heavily, laughter spilling between them as they collapsed on the floor. Seokjin stumbled back, and Hoseok instinctively reached to catch him, but they both lost their balance, Seokjin landing on top of him.
Time seemed to slow as their eyes met, and suddenly, the years of lingering touches, stolen glances, and quiet longing crystallized. Without thinking, they leaned in, their lips meeting in a passionate kiss that spoke of everything they'd felt but hadn't said.

Back to Present
The memory made Hoseok's heart swell with warmth. He looked down at Seokjin now, realizing that nothing in his life had ever felt as right as this love. He reached over, tucking a stray strand of hair behind Seokjin's ear.
Hoseok (softly): "You're everything to me, Jin. My happiness, my calm...my remedy."
Seokjin's eyes glistened as he kissed Hoseok's forehead, then his cheek, finally brushing a soft kiss against his lips.
Seokjin: "And you're my sunshine, Hobi. So don't let the clouds keep you down. You'll shine again-I know it."
Hoseok, feeling reinvigorated, felt inspiration spark. He lay there, penning down words in his head, his thoughts full of Seokjin-his love, his comfort, his unbreakable belief in him. When the first line came to him, it felt natural, like it had been waiting for him all along.
The next morning, Hoseok sat by the window, Seokjin still asleep beside him. With a smile, he scribbled down the first draft of a song he would call Remedy-a song for the one who had always been his remedy, healing him with love and unwavering support.
As Seokjin awoke and found him writing, Hoseok turned to him, his eyes bright with excitement.
Hoseok: "I think...I finally know what I needed to write."
Seokjin's face lit up with a proud smile as he cupped Hoseok's cheek, his touch tender and encouraging.
Seokjin: "I told you, didn't I? You just needed a little reminder of how amazing you are."
Hoseok leaned in, kissing him once more, their love filling the room like a melody that had been waiting to be heard. And in that moment, Hoseok knew that every word he wrote would be filled with the warmth and devotion he felt for Seokjin.
