Sanas POV

Court Room

My lawyer stands, motioning for me to be sworn in.

"I swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth".

The defence attorney sneers at me from across the room, his gaze sharp and calculating. He's probably already crafting his strategy to tear me apart on the stand, to make me out to be a liar. But I'm ready. I have to be. He needs to be in jail.

"Ms. Minatozaki, thank you for being here today. I know this isn't easy. Can you please describe to the court what happened at the time of the assault?", he asked.

I inhale deeply, trying to steady my breath. The memories come rushing back, overwhelming and painful, but I force myself to focus on the words, not on the emotions.

"Well, I was minding my own business in my apartment in the living room about to go look for my daughter. Something grabbed me. I tried to get away but he was stronger and he kept hitting me. And hitting me till I was on the floor but he didn't stop".

"Mr. Kang assaulted you?".

"Yes. He... he forced himself on me. I kept telling him to stop, but he wouldn't. I couldn't get away", I said.

The prosecutor nods, his expression sympathetic but professional

"What happened after the assault, Ms. Minatozaki? Can you tell us what you remember?".

I swallow hard, my hands shaking in my lap.

"I don't remember everything. I was... I was so disoriented. I woke up in a hospital bed".

The courtroom falls silent, and I feel the weight of the moment.

"No more questions", he said heading back to his seat.

The judge looks over at the defence attorney, who now rises to his feet.

"Sana. Isn't it true that you have a history of making false accusations? Isn't it true that, in the past, you've tried to destroy Mr. Kang's reputation, trying to ruin his life? That this whole 'assault' story is just another attempt to get back at him for rejecting your advances in the past".

I can feel the bile rise in my throat. The lies. The manipulations. He's twisting everything again, trying to make me look like the villain. But I won't let him.

"I've never lied about what happened to me. What I'm saying is the truth".

The defence attorney smirks, leaning over the podium.

"So you're telling us, under oath, that Mr. Kang assaulted you, despite the lack of physical evidence? Despite the fact that there were no witnesses?".

I want to scream at him, to tell him how wrong he is. But I stay calm, steady. I know the truth, and that's all that matters.

"Sana please answer his question", the judge said.

"He did assault me".

The defence attorney's gaze hardens, but he doesn't press me further. Instead, he sits back down, casting one final glance at me before turning his attention to the judge.
