Chapter 5
Rileys POV
My fist hesitated over the door. Maybe this wasnt such a smart idea.
But I had to see her, to know that she was safe. I had to.
I knocked quickly, two hard raps on the door.
I heard soft footsteps approach the door, and then she slowly opened it.
I suddenly felt relaxed and calm when I saw her. Her rose scent made my mouth water. I wanted to kiss her so badly. She wore only a tank top and some silk pajama shorts, it was gorgeous on her. Her blonde hair was in waves down her back.
Her angelic face was a mask of shock as she took me in. I was pleased when I noticed she was checking me out.
"Riley?" she said, her voice a pitch higher in surprise.
I grinned at her and winked, causing blush to creep up her neck.
"That's my name." I said cheerily.
"What are you doing here? I thought Emma needed to talk to me...wait she sent you? What does she need?" She said with some worry in her voice.
"Oh, she doesnt need anything. I just needed your address." I said casually.
"Why?" She said, her face scrunched in confusion.
I laughed at her expression.
"To see you, why else?" I murmured.
Her colour deepened and she shook her head like she didnt believe me.
"Is your..uh brother home? Or your parents?" I asked nervously, not wanting to get her in trouble.
Her face darkened slightly when I brought up her family, and I wished I hadnt said anything.
"Uhh, my brother went to the store. And my mom isnt home. She never is." She muttered quietly.
"Oh. Well, may I come in?" I said cheerily.
Her dark expression vanished, replaced with confusion again.
"I guess so." She said slowly, moving back so I could walk in.
The house looked fairly new from what I could tell, maybe they had it built before they came here.
It was also pretty big. Everything was spotless and in order, nothing out of place.
She stood beside me awkwardly, probably not knowing what to do.
"Should we go to your room?" I asked, breaking the silence.
Her face turned red again, and she looked at her bare feet.
"Uhh, sure I guess." she muttered, starting down a hallway.
She turned right and opened the door, then stood back so I could walk in.
The smell of roses filled the room, her scent was on everything. The room was small, her bed was pushed in the corner and she had a small beanbag chair in the other corner. She had one large window taking up the far wall, with a window seat. There were clothes scattered around the room.
It was much more homey than the rest of the house.
She sat down on the edge of her bed, and I sat on the beanbag chair.
She looked at me for a few seconds, and then let out a long breath.
"Ok, why are you really here? Does it have to do with Sheila or-" I cut off, filling with rage.
"Sheila?! What did she do! Did she say anything to you? I swear to God Im gonna kill her!" I yelled, my voice trembling with rage.
I had to focus on keeping my wolf in control.
Her eyes widened, but she somehow sensed I was furious, because she walked over to me. She placed her hand on my chest to calm me down, intoxicating me with her scent.
"Shh, calm down. Its ok, she didnt do anything." she said, her green eyes calming.
I relaxed instantly at her touch, but she also gave me a boost of confidence.
I leaned forward and pressed my lips to hers gently. It was amazing. At first she stiffened, but then she wrapped her arms around my neck, pulling me closer.
My heart was beating out of my chest as I wrapped my arms around her waist.
"WHAT THE HELL?!"
We broke apart instantly, seeing who walked in.
Well, I guess her brother was back from the store.
