Elizabeth slowly wakes up at 5 am on her second day at camp, preparing for all the questions and comments that she would get from all of the boys.
She walked out of her tent in her uniform, walking to the training area.
She then lined up with the rest of the boys, ready for training, who shared confused looks at a girl in their ranks. Finally Peggy walked out and gave orders for them to start doing push ups, which Liz did extremely easily and finished faster with the boys, and at the same time as Steve. She stood up and looked over, to see him looking at her curiously.
He finally mouths, "how?" To which Liz just shrugged smirking.
They were then told to run 4 laps around the track. She started to run, being second in the lead, with one person in front.
She jogged slightly faster to catch up with Steve. " 'Sup Rogers?" She said.
"You're pretty impressive Stewart, for a girl."
"Oh really? For a girl?"
He chuckles as we continue running, "I didn't mean it like that, I've just never even seen a girl sign up for the army, let alone get accepted."
"Well, the English government knew and trusted me, so here I am."
"If they trusted you so much, why did they send you over here?" He asked. "As a spy?" He teased.
"Not as a spy, I came over with Peggy."
"You didn't answer my first question."
"Well, I helped my own regiment and they thought you guys could really use some help, so here I am..."
"Well, we don't need help anymore because they've got me."
"Oh, yes. The extremely obvious supersoldier."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"Just that, they could have made this stronger version of you a lot less obvious."
"And how do you know that would have been possible?"
She shrugs, "You'll find out some time."
Later on in training, you had to do target practice and tire flipping.
When it came to the tire flipping, she had another instructor, not Peggy.
The stupid instructor gave her a smaller tire, due to being a weak little girl.
"Uhm, sergeant?"
"Yes Stewart?"
"Why do I have a smaller tire?"
"Because you're a female. Do you want to have the same size as the men?"
"Yes sir." He rolls one over. "Thank you, sir."
All of the soldiers looked at her extremely confused. As the whistle blows, they start flipping the tire.
Even though Steve was a supersoldier, and a guy, she still beat him to the end, even though the tire was heavier than herself.
Steve made it to the end second and it took the other boys another minute.
"How?"
"What?" Liz said turning to Steve.
"How the hell did you do that? Beat all of the men to the end?"
"Skills." She said grinning.
"Are you always so sarcastic?"
"Whaaaat? No. Am I really?" Steve looks at you as if to say "really?"
"Yeah, yeah, more sarcasm, I know... It's more of a coping method, new situations, new people."
"Oh okay, well then, feel free to be as sarcastic as you want then."
Liz just chuckles as the rest of the boys get to the end and crowd around Luz, asking repeatedly how she became so strong, to which she replied with a shrug.
"Hey! Are we soldiers or fangirls?" The sergeant yelled. That caused the boys to jump and scatter back into line. All of the soldiers, including Elizabeth salute and stand waiting.
Everyone then gets told to run laps. Liz takes the lead, jogging around the track a few times, with Steve on her heels the whole way.
Eventually they finished and Liz picked up her water and had a drink.
"So you're strong and fast. What else can you do?" A voice came from behind her, near her ear, making her jump.
"I thought it was just me who was sarcastic?"
"Oh no. I can be extremely sarcastic as well."
"Good to know."
The two talk for a while, before the other boys finally finish their laps and walk over, all taking sips of their own waters.
Eventually training was over and Liz was sitting in Peggy's room, talking about her first day.
"And he gave me a smaller tire, just because I'm a girl!" She throws her hands up annoyed. "Can you believe that!?"
"Well he is an American, and a guy. You knew when we came here that most men here were gonna be severely sexist."
"Well, most of the guy soldiers are alright, just very curious about how I'm so strong. But there's one soldier. The supersoldier. He's quite nice actually. The first day we got here he tried to make friends with me. I kinda froze but he was really nice and we talked more today which was lovely."
"Oooh, Lizzie's got a crush." Peggy teased. Liz just blushed and hit her friend playfully.
"No. No she does not. Lizzie does not have a crush!"
Peggy bursts out laughing, and falls back in her bed, which makes Liz laugh which causes her to collapse on the floor and lay down laughing.
The two were definitely best friends.
Now Lizzie might be getting a new friend, where will these two stand...
Only time will tell...
