For a few days, Liz spoke to no one. She ignored when Peggy or Steve tried to talk to her. The only time Liz replied to Peggy was in training, and it was either with a "yes Captain" or a "no Captain."

Steve on the other hand, she completely ignored. Every time he tried to talk to her she just looked the other way.

However one time, Steve was fed up of being ignored. So he pulled her back towards him...

"Liz. Please just talk to me." She turned away from him yet again, but this time he span her back towards him and held her by her waist. "Please, just talk to me... I'm sorry."

Liz looked into his eyes, and very blue eyes the were, and saw that he was being genuine.

She looked away and looked back to his eyes and nodded, telling him that this was his one chance to fix this.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to call you that. I'm so so sorry, please forgive me." He begged.

This made Liz smile slightly which Steve caught and he pointed at her smiling. "Aha! I saw that! You smiled... Come on, does that mean you forgive me." As she didn't let anything on her started to rub his thumbs on her sides where his hands were placed, tickling her slightly. She started to laugh, "There we go. There we go! She's laughing!" Liz started to laugh fully now.

"Okay. Okay! I forgive you! Now stop it, idiot!" He finally stopped and she stumbled backwards still laughing.

They smile at each other and she shakes her head still smiling.

"Just remember, you're not getting off that easily next time."

"Of course not."

The next evening, Liz was having flashbacks backs to her childhood while trying to sleep. So decided to get up for another walk.

It was raining but she didn't care. She walked around before she felt a hand on her shoulder. She turned to see Steve behind her.

"Hi."

"What are you doing out here so late, young lady?"

"You're only a year older than me!"

"And you're deflecting."

"Fair point." She said before smiling and looking away.

He holds her chin gently and turns her head towards him. "Come on, Liz, talk to me."

She looks into his eyes as a tear falls down her cheek.

"Oh Liz..." She looked away, ashamed at her display of emotion. "No. No. Don't look away. Don't be ashamed. Talk to me. Please, Lizzie."

Lizzie. That was the first time anyone had ever called her that. It made her smile. "What?" Steve asked confused.

"You called me Lizzie."

"I'm sorry, I didn't-"

"No, no. I don't mind. It's just that no one has ever called me that before," She paused for a moment. "Lizzie. I like it."

She smiled at Steve and he smiled back.

Eventually Liz went to find Peggy.

"Hi Peggy."

"I get why you weren't speaking to me, but why Steve? What did he do?"

"He called me- he called me Elizabeth."
Liz breathed.

"Oh, Liza... I am sorry. I'm sorry for what I did as well."

"It's okay, Peg."

The girls hugged, both thankful to have their best friend back.
