Soon came another mission for Steve, it was October 30th, 1945.

It was horrible for Liz to watch him go, he had to go and get this cube called the Tesseract away from Schmidt.

Knowing it would be dangerous, Liz didn't want him to go.

Steve however wanted to go. But promised Lis he would be safe.

"Steve, please be careful."

"I will, Lizzie, I promise."

"You'd better not break that promise Captain Rogers..." Liz smiled, but spoke completely seriously.

"I won't Lizzie, you know that."

She smiled and huged him. "Please be careful." She whispered.

"Always, Liz." He hugged her and as they pulled away, they looked into each others eyes, Steve glanced to Liz's lips, practically asking for permission to kiss her. Liz nodded and Steve connected their lips.

A throat cleared behind them and them broke apart, "Time to go Captain." Sergeant Duffy said, smiling at the two of them

While Steve was on the plane, Liz, Peggy, Howard and the Sergeant were all in the control centre.

Steves voice finally came through. "This is Captain America. Anyone copy?"

"I copy." Peggy said into the communications device.

"Peg, thank God. Uhm, I have some bad news."

"What- what is it? What's happening Rogers?"

"I'm gonna have to put her in the water. Otherwise she could level this city."

"No, Steve we can find another way."

"We can't. It's too late."

"Steve?" Liz spoke up.

"Hey Liz."

"What happened?"

"Shmidt- tessera- hole in the city- I have to- water." Steve was breaking up incredibly, and the line went dead completely as he hit the water.

A tear rolled down Liz's cheek and she looked away, wiping it off her cheek.

Peggy came over and placed a hand on her friends shoulder comfortingly.

Liz shook her head and walked out of the room and back to her tent.

A few days later, the war was declared done and Liz decided it was best for her to head back to England.

Peggy decided to stay, so once again Liz was alone.
