Elizabeth was extremely helpful to the British army. But as her one and only friend, Margaret Carter was going over to Americain May 1943 to help with their army, Elizabeth begged to go. Her general, knowing her past, let's her go with her, as long as she promised to go back if needed. Which she did promise.

Being on a plane was fairly fun, getting to annoy her best friend was the best part.

"Pegggyyyyy?" Her friend just rolls her eyes, preparing for a long ride.

"Margaret..." Her friend smiles at the use of her full name.

"What is it, Liz?"

"Why did you take the job in America, I thought you liked England?"

Peggy smiles sadly. "I do, I just needed a change of scenery."

"Whyyyyy?"

"Eliza, please. Just drop the questions." Eliza was the name Peggy used when she was annoyed, still respecting that Elizabeth hated her full name.

"Oh. Okay, sorry." Peggy saw the look on her friends face drop, knowing she was thinking about her childhoods severe 'no questions' rule.

The flight attendant came in, "Ladies, we'll be arriving in The New World in around 10 minutes."

"Thank you." Eliza said.

Landing in America was scary, a big city where she didn't know what was what.

She looked around, overwhelmed, when finally someone came up to the both of them and touched her arm.

"Ladie- ah!" He shouted out as Elizabeth grabbed his wrist and twisted it.

"Eliza! This is the man who is taking us to the base!" Lizzie slowly relaxed the man's arm and stepped back.

"Sorry," Peggy turned to the man, "She has a bad history."

"That's okay, ma'am. This way to the car."

Peggy and Liz followed the man to the car, got in and went to the base.

When they arrived, the men saw Peggy in her sergeants uniform and Liz in her foot soldier uniform.

Their eyes stayed on Liz for longer, wondering how on earth a little 5'4 girl is a soldier.

They walked over and saluted Peggy before saluting Liz, which she returns to them, respectfully.

Finally Sergeant Duffy walks over and saluted the two of them and salutes, which Liz returns promptly, even before Peggy does.

He looks at her grateful and full of respect. "So... We now have a female soldier in our ranks?"

"You do, sir, yes." Liz says respectfully.

"Welcome to the ranks, Elizabeth."

"Uh, just Eliza is fine."

"Of course. Eliza."

"Thank you, Sergeant."

"Don't worry about it, soldier." She smiles at the name.

"If I may know, where will I be staying?"

He shows her where she will be staying and she sits on the bed as he exits. She gets up and starts putting all of her things in the chest if drawers and hanging up, the one dress that she brought:

Suddenly someone walked into her tent. She stood quickly, turning around from her chest of draws.

As she turned she saw a tall blonde man.

"Stewart?"

"Who's asking?"

"Steve Rogers."

"Ah, the super soldier."

"The one and only ma'am." At that statement, Liz scoffed and shook her head.

"What was that about?" Rogers chuckled.

"Just that I know otherwise."

"Oh really?"

"Yeah really."

"And how do you know?"

Elizabeth dodges his question by introducing herself, "Elizabeth Stewart, British Army, at your service." She takes a slightly sarcastic bow.

"Steve Rogers, 26th infantry, at your service."

She holds her hand out to shake Steve's and he takes it, shaking hers.

"Nice to meet you, ma'am."

"Oh my gosh, please drop the ma'am."

"Well what do I call you then?"

"Just Eliza."

"Well, Just Eliza, how old are you?"

"24, you?"

"I'm 25." Elizabeth smiled and nods.

"I'll let you settle in then. Eliza. Goodnight."

"Thank you."

"For what?"

"For trying for friendship. Good night Mr Rogers.
