I was busy making final adjustments to the backyard setup. The guests had already started coming in.

I wanted to wear a Kurta since my sissy too was wearing Indian but I don't know for what reason she didn't let me wear it and made me wear a suit-"boring"! Well I have to also ask her about Avyan! Why do I think there's something going on between the two.

My attention divided between directing the helpers and making sure the fairy lights above were perfectly in place. Tonight's welcome party was a significant event for my family; after years away, we had finally moved back to Rajasthan. I was excited but also slightly on edge, wanting everything to be perfect.

As I stepped back to take in the overall look, a familiar voice pulled me out of my concentration. I turned, my face breaking into a grin as I saw Aarav, my best friend, walking toward me.

Okay guys I admit that even though we both fight like kids but I genuinely like him- I mean his company. I'm not gay! I know he's always been there and he'll always be. He took great care of Avyan for as long as I know Avyan can't stand other people. But him- is of course and exception and ya he isn't that bad I mean.

I was about to call out to Aarav when I saw who walked in beside him.

Chorni.

My smile faltered slightly as I registered her presence-'Loudspeaker, Chorni kahike' I huffed.

Meri pyaari bulbul ko chura liya....huh!

Fine she said that she didn't steal it and also she is Aarav's sister but- mein kaise maanloo!

But something was different this time.

She looked... stunning, in a way that was almost impossible to ignore. She wore a deep black dress that seemed to shift with the light, hugging her form in just the right places. Her dark hair fell effortlessly over her shoulder, and her eyes sparkled with a certain mischief that had always been her trademark.
