"Hey, Avyan," I whispered, my voice low and teasing. "What if I told you I was going to kiss you?"
His eyelids fluttered open, and he blinked up at me, confusion mingling. "What?"
"Yep," I continued, my tone playful. "I might just kiss you right here, right now."
He rubbed his eyes, and I could see the flicker of shyness in his expression. "Really?" he mumbled, his voice thick with sleep.
"Of course! But you have to earn it," I said, leaning in slightly, enjoying the moment.
"Earn it?" His brows furrowed as he pushed himself up on one elbow, a hint of color rising to his cheeks. "How?"
"Hmm..." I tapped my chin, pretending to think seriously. "You could start by admitting how much you enjoy being here with me."
He hesitated, glancing away as if the idea made him shy. "Well, it's nice," he finally admitted, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Nice? Just nice?" I teased, raising an eyebrow. "Come on, Avyan, you can do better than that!"
He looked at me, a mix of embarrassment and determination in his eyes. "Okay, it's more than nice. I like being here with you. Happy?"
"Almost," I replied, leaning in a bit closer, my heart racing. "But I need more. Tell me why you think I'd actually want to kiss you."
He looked down, a smile creeping onto his face as he tried to mask his shyness. "Because... I'm charming?"
"Charming?" I echoed, laughing softly. "You think that's enough to win a kiss?"
"Maybe I have some other tricks up my sleeve," he said, his confidence building as he leaned closer, clearly enjoying our little game.
"Oh really? Like what?" I asked, my curiosity piqued.
"Well, for starters," he began, his eyes sparkling, "I can make the best cheesy jokes. That counts for something, right?"
"Cheesy jokes?" I teased, pretending to consider it. "That sounds like a last resort, Avyan."
"Okay, okay," he laughed, pushing himself upright. "But you have to admit, I'm also a great listener."
I nodded, encouraging him. "True. I'll give you that. But what's that got to do with kissing me?"
"Everything!" he exclaimed, his voice a mix of excitement and exasperation. "If I listen to you, that means I care. And if I care, you should totally kiss me!"
I leaned back, feigning deep thought. "Interesting logic. But I still need a little more convincing."
"Fine!" he said dramatically, throwing his hands up in defeat. "But I refuse to let you keep me from that kiss forever."
