From the Oort Cloud, I began my flight,
An icy wanderer, in the cosmic night.
Discovered in '23, by eyes so keen,
A celestial traveler, rarely seen.

I journeyed through space, so vast and grand,
Past planets and moons, through dust and sand.
With a tail so bright, and an anti-tail too,
A rare cosmic feature, for all to view.

I passed by Venus, with a wink and a smile,
A cosmic flirtation, just enough to beguile.
To Earth I came, a sight to behold,
A comet so bright, with stories untold.

For 80,000 years, I’ve roamed the dark,
A frozen voyager, leaving my mark.
Now in the evening sky, I make my show,
A fleeting glimpse, so bright for all to know.

Look to the west, as the sun dips low,
See my tail shimmer, in the twilight glow.
With binoculars or a telescope’s might,
Catch a glimpse of my celestial light.

In synchronized harmony, I join the dance,
Chaos and beauty, is my cosmic trance.
A comet’s life, both brutal and fleet,
A tale of the universe, a heavenly feat.

So here’s to my journey, through space and time,
A comet’s tale, in poetic rhyme.
Remember me, as I fade from sight,
A cosmic traveler, in the endless night.
