Breaking Free

In shadows deep, where whispers lie,
I found myself beneath her sky.
Her words, a web, so finely spun,
A tale of guilt, I was the one.

She played the victim, tears like rain,
Each drop a link in my own chain.
Her sorrow masked the truth so well,
In her sad story, I did dwell.

But now the dawn, it breaks anew,
A light that cuts the lies in two.
No longer bound by fear or shame,
I rise, I soar, I claim my name.

Her grip, it fades, a ghostly past,
The chains she forged, they break at last.
My mind, my heart, they now are free,
To think, to feel, to simply be.

No more the puppet on her string,
I am my own, I am the king.
In freedom’s light, I stand so tall,
No longer in her shadow’s thrall.
