The Pawns Lament

My heart it thumps and beats out loud
Among the murmur of the crowd.
Can you hear its gentle thrum?
As they pass
A roar
and rain does pour.

The gentle touch that we once shared,
has left me now.
Alone in despair.
Please tell me that this is not true.
That loves not lost
but still burns through.

I long to feel your tender kiss
Upon my skin.
Its all I wish.
Your hand to take, our fingers locked.
For together in this moment,
Time has stopped.

I feel your warmth but it's not for me.
Your love has gone, deserted me.

For all I felt
has seemed to pass.
The moments shared,
come to an end.

My heart is shattered, no more it sings.
Instead it weeps, the pain, forever stings.

I try to write with happy tones
But pain is where my heart belongs.

No more my smile can light you up
For I fall deep into abyss.
Cast out alone, no raft or ship
To carry me back over stormy seas.

Collapsed in pain, begging on my knees
I want to enter again once more the light,
that only your love bore.
For now it's withered, I have shrank
Back down to dirt and dust and dank.

Pick me up once more I pray,
Give me light to brighten my day.
In return I'll hold you dear,
I'll love you true in all things pure.

I once again allow you take my hand
And with it I wish for you to guide.
I am a pawn for you to play.
No game is harder
than life's un ending frey.

The threads of fate how cruel
they may be
to those who only look,
see past the world
Into darkness took.

My soul is rend from flesh
Your name upon my heart is etched in pain.
I tried to keep you out and away
To save myself the pain in your wake
But it's here you shall remain
Wrapped in love, free from pain.

You are to me the sweetest angel
I am but a toy for your musings
Nothing more
than another to discard
once bored and broken.

A heap I lie at your feet,
cast aside
Thrown to the street.
To fend against the coldest dawn,
Alone once more
Forevermore.
