Lingering Thoughts

The moon hangs heavy in the sky,
A silent witness to my sigh.
In shadows deep, my thoughts do roam,
Yearning for your touch, your home.

I ponder now, what fills your days,
What laughter rings, what love ablaze?
Do thoughts of me still linger near,
Or am I lost, a fading fear?

Do messages arrive with forced delight,
A duty bound, a hollowed sight?
Or does my name ignite your soul,
A burning flame, a sacred goal?

A fleeting thought, a casual glance,
Or am I all you seek, a lover's trance?
A playful whim, a passing trend,
Or the one you chose, world without end?

Uncertainty's cold hand I grasp,
As doubt's dark cloud my spirit enwraps.
But hope's small ember still does glow,
Awaiting answers, only you know.
