Let's Try to Plan Our Party and Ship Laria

We all sit again in the kumbaya pose, criss crossed and staring deep into the eternal flame of each other's eyes. Because that's what we do. That's what we do.

And yeah, I think I'm getting high on some Laria right now, because they are staring into each other's eyes and blushing a lot.

We need some context!

"Okie, umm," Zoe starts, breaking the staring competition between all of us (but Laria). We all try to seem like we aren't paying attention Liam and Aria staring into each other's eyes. Zoe continues on nevertheless.

"So, we got the application form back and it got approved, and we're throwing our classic parties because of our new club, but we still need a theme."

"Mhm," Aria says, "do whatever you want."

We all ignore that and Liam crawls over to Aria and sits next to her, and broken out of that strange trance, she leans into Liam's shoulder and we coo silently before getting back to the topic of party themes. Or at least pretending to get back to the topic of party themes.

Jason is giving me the squiggly eyebrows and looking between the sweet Laria moment and me.

"Stop it," I mouth at him.

Zoe stews in the heated tension of love, and starts again, "Umm, okie, nothing? How about... I don't know... disco?"

We all nod, not even understanding anything, and focus in on the Laria action, because who wouldn't? Well, only the boys aren't. But they are special. Busy pining over their chosen ones.

Like take Tim or Tam or bangs boi or whatever we're calling him now, admiring Toast, who as usual, has a slight scowl, much better than usual, as she's casually observing the Laria action.

Jason is admiring me with a soft smile-smirk, and I'm just going to pretend I don't notice it.

And Will? I don't know... I think he has developed a crush on Athulya, because I have seen him always sneaking glances at her.

Did Athulya notice yet? Nope.

Zoe is the only one actually on task, and she's holding a clipboard, taking notes as Atalanta peers over her shoulder at it for five seconds before returning to look at Laria. She writes down something, then looks back up, snapping her fingers.

Everyone, including Laria, this time, breaks out of their trance, and looks at Zoe.

"Okay, now that I actually got everyone's attention, who's taking decorations?"

I raise my hand.

"Okay, Ruby got that." She says, scribbling down stuff.

"Food?"

Athulya raises her hand.

Zoe goes on, directing us and making sure we are on task, and at the end:

"So who's going to pay?"

"Atalanta and Aria," we all chime in unison (including the boys).

Atalanta and Aria raise their hands in the air, waving them around. Aria pushes Liam and he pouts, looking at her as she stands.

"WOAH, just because we're rich doesn't mean we have to pay everything!!!!" Atalanta said, and they high-fived each other. Toast sighs.

"Unfortunately, we're not bloody rich like you guys. We're bloody broke. I can't even buy a cup noodle without having to be forced to shoplift it."

We turn to look at Toast if we aren't already. "YOU DID WHAT?" We chime in unison.

She shrugs, and nobody doesn't notice the look of complete admiration Tim gives her. Well, Toast doesn't notice, but still. And I totally don't notice Jason just looking at me and sighing sadly and pitifully and beautifully - okay, I'll stop now. I look at Will quickly, and he's smiling, braces on display, as he looks at Athulya, who is smiling back at him.

"Relax, fledglings, it was just one time." Toast says, waving her hands around.

We roll our eyes.

"Okay," Zoe says, getting back on track, "so Atalanta and Aria it is?" We nod, although they begrudgingly do, they still do, having nothing to say to the poorness or us.

Aria looks unhappily at Liam, who pats her back gently.

"Oh," Liam starts, "I also have something to say - actually, announce may be the better word." Aria lifts her head from his shoulder and scoots away, shaking her head no. Suspicious. He looks at her and cocks his head pitifully to the side, pouting slightly.

Aria looks away, thinking, and then looks back, nodding, as we're all holding our breaths.

We need this right now, especially after the kidnapping -

"Aria and I are - "

"Going to have a baby?" Alex suggests, her eyes sparkling and widening.

We all facepalm ourselves, well, figuratively, but we all roll our eyes at her.

"NOOOOO," Aria says, looking stressed out, "we're dating!"

My first reaction is disbelief, but then:

"WAIT WHAT?!?!!?!?!?" We all shout in unison. Everyone starts going crazy, and then there's a knock at the door. We all look at each other in dreadful silence before -

"NOT IT!" Claire shouts, making us all instinctively reach to our noses. And the loser and poor person who will have to open the door is - EVELYN!!!!" Evelyn's eyes dart toward the door, silently contemplating and regretting her life choices. The impatient knocker knocks again, the knocks threatening to knock down the door. If that is possible.

She moves in slow motion, silently unlocking it before -

"THIS IS YOUR SECOND OFFENSE," the campus police officer shouts, well, actually, the figurative term would be barking, and you can literally see Evelyn's hair blow back from the sheer force of his voice.

"IF WE GET ANOTHER COMPLAINT ABOUT THE NOISE LEVEL, WE WILL - "

Jason stands up and faces the guy, Evelyn moving out of the way.

"Relax big guy, it's fine, we won't do it again."

The campus police officer blinks and nods before bursting into tears, "I'm sorry, it's just my wife sent me a divorce letter saying I'm too brutal... I'm sorry. Okay, I'll leave now."

Jason blinks at him, we blink at him, and Jason shuts the door.

"Now that was weird," he says.

The life of an SC is weird.
