"You're not serious, aren't you?"

Mun Jae frowned as she scanned her daughter's face but Roseanne had already looked away in defiance. "I told you so many times," Her voice was rowdy as she clenched her jaws. "You can't keep me from the world forever,"

"I wasn't trying to lock you up," The older woman replied. She tried to reach for Roseanne's shoulder to still the woman in place but the blonde avoided the touch with a hiss. "Don't touch me. You're not even my mom," The word came attacking Mun Jae like a poison.

"Why?" Roseanne eventually faced her and the older woman instantly recognised that look in her eyes.

Hurt.

"Surprised that I knew about your dirty secret?" The blonde questioned sarcastically. "Who told you that?" Mun Jae quipped. She tried to remain calm, God, she tried.

But it's hard to maintain a poker face now that all hell's breaking loose. "Lisa did," Roseanne mumbled brokenly.

"That little rat?" Mun Jae narrowed her eyes in suspicion. "How did she know? This is not something that I publicise..."

"Stop it. Stop it now," Roseanne pleaded. Hands covering both ears as she shut her eyes yet still the tears flowed. "I don't want to hear anything from a liar like you,"

"I'm not a liar," Mun Jae tried to rectify the situation. She took a step forward, and was about to reach her daughter's shoulder when Roseanne broke down even further.

"You lied to me! All these years, you lied to me! I thought you were my mum but you weren't. That's why Harin and Jennie never liked you. I thought they were just being weird but it's ... Thanks to Lisa, I know the truth now,"

"Goddammit, Roseanne. Pull yourself together!" Mun Jae yelled. That was the first one after 16 years. And the older woman felt her heart crushing down into tiny little pieces.

"I don't know what you are talking about," She breathed out and her tone was back to normal.

To the one she always used when she talked to her beloved one.

But Roseanne was done. Was done being lied to. Was done having to listen to.

"I don't want to talk to you, like ever" Roseanne sniffed. She wiped her nose to the sleeve of her shirt then blinked tears from her eyes. "You and I are strangers. We should remain like that from now,"

"No! No! That's not right," Mun Jae pleaded. The older woman even sank to her knees as she begged. "We're not strangers," Her desperate smile appeared, stretching her lips. "You're my daughter. I told you so many times already. We're family, Rosie"
