Giyuu opened his eyes, but the bright light made him close them once more. He slowly opened his eyes again and adjusted to the light that surrounded him.
He sat up. Everything hurt, but he tried to ignore the pain. The pictures of the night flashed through his mind.
He remembered everything, the screams, the blood, how the demon took a bite out of him and how it was torn of the body parts of somebody close to him.
Lost. Giyuus eyes widen at the realization. He had lost another person close to him. Daiki Tomioka, his cousin, the only family he had left, was dead.
No. NO. He had to be alive, but giyuu knew exactly that, Daiki couldn't have survived that night, not with these injuries.
But another thought hit his mind. Where was he? Why was he alive? Is he alive? had somebody found him?
What did it matter he had lost. He had let daiki down. He let him die. He was a demon slayer a Hashira but still couldn't save him. It was his fault he should have done something... anything.
Somebody opened the door, but he didn't look up. He flinched as he felt how someone was pulling him into a hug. It wad Sanemi but after sanemi realized what he did, he let him go.
Shinobu brought giyuu a class of water, and after he took a sip, she began asking giyuu some questions, but he didn't answered Instead, he looked down at his shaking hands His fault. It was all His fault.
He heard Shinobu say something, and the other two left the room without another word.
Some time passed, giyuu still didn't talk to anyone. And worried Shinobu and also sanemi sick. Giyuu almost never ate something only if one of them forced him to eat so he wouldn't starve. He nearly never left the room. He just sat on his bed and dis nothing.
The others still came visiting him, and one day, they sat together and talked about him. "I'm so worried about tomioka-san he didn't talk for weeks," said mitsuri.
"I wonder what exactly happened that night. we all know he doesn't talk much, but now he doesn't even look up at us when we talk to him, not very flamboyant," said tengen.
"I think he is overreacting," said obanai. "My my, i must say i also deeply worried about him he doesn't even eat anything, " said Shinobu.
More time passed, and giyuu wounds were now completely healed, but he still didn't talk one word. Shinobu let him go back to the water estate even if she was still worried.
It was good two days after giyuus returned home when a hashira meeting was called to discuss the latest things that had happened...
