Aki's POV
Ever since I came back here in the Philippines, I had been treating Serene coldly.
Don't even bother asking me why, cause I also don't know the answer. I also can't give myself an explanation about that.
Maybe, I'm scared. Maybe, it's my way of protecting myself from being hurt again. Maybe, I'm scared that in the end, we will hurt each other again. I don't want that.
But Serene being Serene, she just wouldn't stop bothering me. Don't get me wrong. I like it. No scratch that, I love it.
I love the idea that she still wants me. I love the idea that I'm still the one she loves. I love the idea that she's bothering me. I love the idea that she's clinging onto me, just like the old times.
There's never been a day that she failed to make me blush, at least secretly. Whenever she sends me food or invites me to eat, it gives butterflies in my stomach.
I may not show it, but I love it. I appreciate it. I want her to keep doing that.
So it has been a routine for me to wait for her everyday to just barge in my office.
And I was not wrong, because here she is again, in front of me. With food in her hand.
The only difference is I could notice that something is wrong with her. She looks so stressed. Before I could even stop myself, I already asked her what's wrong, but as expected, she said nothing.
When she left, I couldn't stop myself from worrying. I felt restless. I couldn't even bring myself to focus on my work.
I kept on thinking about her.
I was about to go home but I saw the lights inside her office were still open. I assumed she was still there. And yes, she was.
Now, I have no doubt that she has a problem. I just need to know what it is.
I felt angry inside me when I asked her if she had dinner but she didn't answer, which means, not.
Without thinking, I found myself inviting her, no not inviting, ordering her to follow me so I could take her to a restaurant and feed her.
When we reached the parking lot of my company, I went towards my car but she called me.
"Aki, you go first. I'll just follow you from behind." she scaredly said, probably because I was glaring at her, making it obvious that I was upset.
I didn't answer her though. I just opened the door of my passenger seat and gestured to her to get in.
"But... I have my car, Aki." she whispered.
"Get the fuck in, Samantha Serene." I said, not taking my eyes off of her.
It made her flinch and ran towards my car. She knows I'm not kidding. She knows I'm mad. She knows I'm dead serious.
When I made sure that she was settled, I got in the driver seat and started to drive off.
"Uhmmm... where are we going?" she asked after a long silence.
I didn't answer her and just focused on the road.
"Can we have a steak, please?" she added.
"Also, buy me an ice cream, after!"
"Oh and, you're going to take me home since you didn't let me drive my car hehe"
When she sensed that I didn't have any plans on answering her, she gave up and just became silent on the passenger seat.
