Trust Is Hard To Come By

(3rd Person POV)

After Arriving back at the helicarrier, Steve shakes Midoriya awake from his nap. As soon as the rear entrance opens multiple armed shield personnel come and take Loki away, while Loki is being taken away Thor introduces himself to the others and commends Midoriya for his battle, as well as his worthiness as a warrior. "Young Midoriya, you have a champion's spirit and I look forward to fighting alongside you." Thor said with a smile while some of his armor and cape disappear. Midoriya flinches slightly and Steve notices but doesn't comment. "Alright I'll be back I'm gonna set up shop in one of these empty hangar bays." Tony says walking away. 

While everyone starts dispersing, Steve follows Midoriya. "You alright son? I saw that look you gave when Thor spoke to you." Steve asks in concern. Not wanting to lie, Midoriya tells Steve the truth. "My mentor, he called me young Midoriya. Hearing Thor say that, it felt like I was home again for a second." Steve looks at Midoriya and pats him on the shoulder. "We'll get you back home kid,I swear." Midoriya holds back tears as he nods his head.

When Steve and Midoriya finish their chat they head back to the bridge and sit at the table where a holo projection appears showing Loki in a cell with Nick Fury talking to him. "It's built for something a lot stronger than you." Fury says in response to Loki's jab at the cell's presence. "Ah yes the monster that still believes he's a man, or is it for the little boy in green? Tell me, who is this child?" Loki asks, looking directly at the camera "He is not your concern." Fury retorts. Loki simply smiles and chuckles "How desperate are you, you call on such lost creatures and a child to defend you?" Fury walks closer to the cell lecturing Loki on why he is so desperate, their talk ends with Fury asking if real power wants a magazine. 

Bruce is first to break the silence with a joke, with Steve realizing that Loki is going to stall as long as possible. "Thor, what's his play?" Thor explains that Loki has an army from an unknown realm, Steve and Natasha both look to Midoriya. "Looks like you were right on the money green bean." Nataha says. "What do you mean by that?" Bruce asks in confusion Thor also looks confused. "When we were flying to Stuttgart, Midoriya mentioned that Loki was probably acting as a diversion, so that his followers could steal something, which was confirmed. He also said that the tesseract was probably how his army would get here, which you just confirmed Thor." Steve explained. Bruce and Thor both look to Midoriya who looks away scratching his head. "It was just a theory I had." Midoriya says deflecting the praise. 

Steve then brings up that Loki let himself be captured and that he can't lead an army from a cell. "Some people are capable of leading an army from a cell Captain, I knew someone who did." Midoriya interjects with a solemn look on his face. Everyone nods, and Bruce says that focusing on Loki is not the concern because he is crazy. "Take care how you speak, Loki is beyond reason, but he is of Asgard, and he is my brother." Natasha brings up his body count over the last two days where Thor says he's adopted. Bruce then asks what the iridium is for. "It's a stabilizing agent, meaning the portal won't collapse on itself like it did at shield." Tony says walking in with Coulson. He then taps Thor on the arm calling him point break. "Also it means the portal can open as wide and as long as he wants." Maria then asks when Tony became an expert in this stuff to which he replies last night. 'Forgot he's a genius and an inventor.' First comments inside Midoriya's mind. Midoriya nods while writing down everything that Tony is saying coming to a conclusion. "He could achieve it at any reactor on the planet." Midoriya says at the same time as Bruce. "Finally, people who speak English." Steve looks confused as Tony and Bruce shake hands. "I'm also a huge fan of how you lose control and turn into an enormous green rage monster." Tony says sardonically.

 "And you, you are interesting, a hero from another world helping just cause its right, truly an inspiration to everyone." Tony says, still sounding sarcastic. "Dr. Banner is only here to locate the cube. I was hoping you would join him." Fury says walking into the bridge. Steve then says to investigate the scepter saying that it works like a hydra weapon. Fury agrees to investigate which the two scientists agree to do. Before they leave though Tony asks something. "If Banner is here to track the cube whys mini hulk here, he our mascot or something?" Midoriya looks at Tony and says clearly. "I am Here to help in any way I can Mr. Stark." Tony smirks, walking away with Bruce to the lab.
