Feels Like Home

(3rd Person POV)

3 Months after the battle of New York things went back to a relatively normal state. Midoriya has been incredibly busy helping with the clean up and restoration of buildings in New York and is constantly followed by reporters, social media, and regular citizens. An interesting development was that people started selling merchandise with his likeness. It started after a fan had shown him a hand made doll, after that many more people started making merchandise of him, but he still likes to think about the day that a fan came up to him and showed off their handmade merch.

It was the little girl he saved when he first arrived in this world 4 and half months ago. She was wearing a green and black sweater representing his hero costume, and was wearing red shoes like his own. She had also dyed the ends of her hair green to match his own hair, but the item in her hand is what drew his attention. In her hands was a handsewn doll that looked like him. "Hi Mr green bunny man, I'm Mindy you saved me a couple months ago." The girl said with barely contained excitement, she glanced back at her mom then looked back at Midoriya. "Hi Mindy I remember you, I hope you're doing well, I also hope you're not wandering in busy streets anymore." Midoriya said with a teasing smirk. Mindy nodded her head back and forth, before she remembered why she came here. "I heard that you've been helping here and I wanted to show you this." She excitedly said while showing Midoriya the doll, he reached out asking if he could look at it, when the girl agreed he looked on with amazement, and barely contained tears. "I made it myself with some help from my mommy." Mindy said, again looking at her mom who smiled back. "This is so cool, Mindy. Thank you for showing me this." Midoriya said with a big smile. Mindy smiled back and asked if he would sign it. "I can't sign this, you put a lot of work into it, but how about we take a picture?" Midoriya offered instead not wanting to damage Mindy's hard work making the doll. After a moment Mindy was on Midoriya's shoulder and both of them were flexing their arms, both wearing big smiles as Mindy's mom took a picture of the two.

After that incident which was recorded by multiple onlookers many more people started to make Deku merch, and every so often when Midoriya is finishing with patrol or helping out the clean-up crews a fan would approach him and ask him to sign something of theirs or take a picture with him. Midoriya always says yes to a photo or a signature, but he refuses to sign something that a fan handmade, believing that the handmade item should be kept in perfect condition.

After reflecting on what has happened he zones back in, just to dodge a bullet that passes right by his body. 'Well, they only made it a block away from the bank.' Midoriya thought to himself while using Black Whip to restrain a getaway car containing 5 armed people that had just robbed a bank. 'Could've caught them immediately if you weren't training again.' The second said in Midoriya's mind, sounding a little miffed. 'Not my fault that your quirk causes me the most trouble, number 2.'Midoriya thought while dodging another bullet, concentrating with Black Whip Midoriya pops the tires of car, the robbers get out and fire their guns at Midoriya, or they would have if all their weapons weren't snatched from their hands the moment they aimed. Three of the five men run at Midoriya hoping to take him down, before any of the three can even throw a punch, they all end up on the ground holding their stomachs in pain. The other two that didn't fight try to run away with the money bags, they don't make it more than five steps before they too are on the ground clutching their stomachs. Midoriya then ties all the criminals up and waits for the police to arrive, when the police do arrive all of them thank Midoriya for his help and that he will need to write a statement later.

(Deku POV)

'That certainly took a lot longer than I thought it would.' I thought to myself flying back to Stark tower. 'I think it's kind of crazy that Tony let you live in his tower, he's such a kind man.' Nana said in the back of my mind with a dreamy tone. Over the months she has formed a slight crush on the genius billionaire. 'Nana.' I said internally with a sigh. 'Oh hush you, let a lady dream.' She said with a chuckle, the other vestiges all laughed in the background. "Welcome back Mr. Midoriya." JARVIS the buildings AI said as I landed. "Hi JARVIS is Dr. Banner still in his lab? I have some more tests he wants me to do." I asked while walking to my room to change. "He is indeed sir, shall I notify him of your return?" "Yes please." After I took a quick shower and changed into casual clothes I went to the labs, walking in I saw Dr. Banner working on a touchscreen. "Hello Doctor, I'm ready to get back at it." "Hey Izuku, saw you stopped some robbers." I smiled and walked up to him. "Anyway I got the specs back from the test we've been running. You're able to use your gear shift quirk on its second setting now for about 3 minutes and that's an improvement from the 30 seconds you started with. That's what your powers are called right quirks, right?" Dr. Banner asked after he read off my stats. I nodded my head as he started reading more of my stats. "You also made a new attack with your Black Whips right, you can summon them with spikes now. A new ability you've made was with your smoke screen, you can detect where people are within the smoke. You've come up with a lot of new applications for your powers, that's not even including your super strength, and if I remember you said you're super strength is not at the max yet, you can only use 55% of it at the moment?" "That's right, and after sparring with hulk I know that I can just barely go toe to toe with him." I said remembering the last sparring fight I had with the hulk.

A couple weeks ago

"Are you sure you want to do this Izuku? I don't really control Hulk, I just aim him at something." Dr. Banner asked me looking nervous, the two of us were in the basement level of Stark Tower which was basically a giant empty room. "I'm sure doctor. The only way to improve is to use what I have against a foe just as strong or in this case stronger."

Dr. Banner nodded but still looked uncomfortable. A moment later he was turning green and growling at me. "Little green wants play?" The hulk growled out. "I guess you could say that." I said in my fighting stance, lightning already arching off of my body, while Danger Sense was all but yelling at me to leave the area. Hulk charged at me throwing a flurry of punches nearly hitting me multiple times. One of his punches connected and sent me flying into a wall. 'Ok that really really hurt.' I thought while charging towards the Hulk. I land a series of punches on Hulk's abdomen and knock the wind out of him, he snarls and grabs my cape, thinking quickly I activated Gear Shift and escaped his grasp and then went in front of him and unleashed a powerful uppercut to his jaw. I released Gear Shift and the hulk crashed into the wall cracking the cement. Hulk smiled while spitting out a tooth. We went back and forth for another 20 minutes, both of us managing to tire each other out, Hulk was on one knee but was wearing a smile. While I was on my back breathing ragged. "We play again little green?" Hulk asked, still wanting to fight. "How about another time." I breathed out that seem to satisfy him and he collapsed turning back into Dr. Banner. "That sucked Izuku." "Heheh yeah. Let's put off our next sparring session for a while." I laughed out while closing my eyes for a moment. Dr. Banner also laughed a little bit.

Present

"Well anyway Izuku that's about everything that you've improved in." Dr. Banner said after a moment. "Are you starting to get adjusted to this Earth?" "Yeah I think so, it... it almost feels like home after living here for about half a year." I said with a sad smile. "We'll find a way to get you back home Izuku." Dr. Banner assured. I smiled again and spoke. "For now this is my home."
