Sloane's body felt heavy but the weight on his heart had lifted. He could sense Seth next to him. His eyes drifted towards the Chairman who was sat up working on his laptop. It was his handsome face, and Sloane could almost believe this was a dream if it weren't for all the aches over his body.
He blushed when he remembered everything that happened last night. The places where Seth touched with his lips ached, but Sloane loved the feeling, it was a constant reminder, Seth loved him.
"Good morning kitten." Seth hummed as he put his laptop away and kissed Sloane's forehead. "Did you sleep well?"
"You insatiable animal!" Sloane grabbed his pillow and threw it at Seth. "You kept saying one more round and I believed you!"
Seth laughed. But whispered apologetically against Sloane's ear.
Yes, Sloane slept well, in fact it was the best sleep he had in a while. But he must have passed out at one point. Luckily, Seth had changed the sheets and cleaned up. But his body was another situation, his ass felt swollen and his back hurt so much. He rolled away to check his phone.
"IT'S 12pm WHY ARE WE NOT AT WORK."
Sloane tried to get up but Seth pulled him closer. "Because you're on sick leave. Don't worry about work."
"Then why are you still here?" Sloane groaned but rested on Seth's chest, not wanting to separate from him.
"My lover finally confessed to me. Wouldn't it be heartless to leave the morning after we made love all night." Seth smiled and Sloane could shrink away at his gaze.
Sloane smiled, mirroring the happiness in Seth's eyes. The thought alone made any panic dissipated as if it were nothing.
But so many things were still left unanswered.
"That day, I thought he was you. He made it so convincing and even had the note I wrote for you. I should have read the signs. I should have known. Why didn't you contact me?" Sloane asked. And most importantly. "Why didn't you step into the cafe and tell me that I was wrong?"
"I thought he sent you to destroy me. I thought you were together all this time because I saw you kiss him at the cafe." Seth answered.
If Sloane could erase all those memories and start again right from the start then all pain, regret and his disgust with himself would otherwise never existed.
"I knew something wasn't right. There were many things that weren't adding up. He didn't know about the tie, he didn't want to talk about the Saturdays at the parties. I should have known because over the weeks I got to know you, I really liked you. But he knew so much about you, even certain mannerism."
"Strangers who do not know us may think we are the same person. Some even mistake us for twins. When we were younger people would mix us up. Whenever I got a new set of clothes, the following day he would have the same thing. And it would be the same thing if I ever got something new, he would need to have it too. During our teenage years, we started to look more different, but that did not last long. His face had been touched by surgeons many times, wanting to copy my likeness. I don't know what he gets out of becoming my replica."
"He is nothing like you. I know that more than anyone." Sloane added.
"I never let anyone in my heart, but with you it couldn't be helped. And so he targeted you. It's all because of me." Seth said slowly. "He has been protected for so long because of the family competition. I wanted to give it all up and live a simple life with you. But if he does win-"
