Sloane was nervous and while Seth was beside him the whole time. He was glad Ren was also here. As Harlan's spouse he was also given an invite. Cameron was upset he wasn't allowed to come. Mostly because his dominants were scared he would cause a scene. But no one dared tell him that.

"Oh but Sloane is going too." Cameron pleaded.

"They are engaged." Gabriel reminded him.

"And he is the secretary to the Chairman, so he must attend regardless." Angel added. "Behave and we will order you a new cage."

"Wow! Just because you want... Okay fine but- I also want a remote control dildo with a heart tracker like Sloane." Cameron added. He was easily willing to be manipulated when it suited him.

"Cameron I swear-" Sloane shouted. "This is a meeting for the family competition, let's not get side tracked!"

Cameron frowned. "I want all the details. I want to know the initial evaluation. The drama with the ex. What is that asshole up to? Are you sure I shouldn't be there, I don't mind going to prison for murder."

"Thank you... but you cannot be serious." Sloane said. "I heard the food is not good- how will you even survive there."

"I will have no choice but to drop the soap everyday and just suck-" Cameron was stopped by Angel who began to drag him out of the room by the neck followed by Gabriel.

He was a lost cause. Still Sloane liked that Cameron was at most times ridiculous, it could put him at ease knowing he was only trying to cheer him up. At least Sloane wanted to assume the best in people.

During the meeting, the growth of the businesses owned by the potential heirs were evaluated. Seth and Samuel were sitting opposite each other, but Seth did not acknowledge him. There was already tension because of the family meeting. But on top of all this Sloane knew Samuel was looking at him. There were no lingering feelings left, not that there was any to begin with. Only the embarrassing memories, where Sloane thought he loved him. He wished he could forget those completely.

The meeting adjourned without a word between them. Sloane began to tidy away the documents as the room cleared, everyone was moving to the main hall to welcome the guests who had come to celebrate the Seon family.

"Sloane," Samuel called.

"Seth." Sloane said ignoring him. "We should go, we have to meet with a few of our clients who have come to support you today."

"You can ignore me all you want, but I will make you come to me willingly." Samuel laughed.

Surprising to what he thought, this man had no dominion over him anymore. There was once a time when he would do everything Samuel told him to. Like a starved pup who knew no other owner. But now even his voice made him sick.

After all, Sloane knew he never loved this man. He wasted enough of his youth, now he was going to live his own path.

"Yeah, good luck with that." Sloane answered.

"I invited some special guests for you Sloane, they said they missed you a lot." Samuel gestured towards the door.

The woman and man stood at the door were dressed up, there was once a time he called them mother and father.

"Sloane." The woman said. "It has been a long time. How have you been my son?" When Sloane doesn't reply, all he feels is Seth's hand reassuring him, that even though this is a personal battle, he can step in at any time. "We have spoken with Samuel and your father and I also had time to think. You are our only son, so we are willing to take you back as long as he supports Samuel and return to him."
