Chapter 23: The "Awkward & straightforward Calvin.

Bella Richards.

Right, we were sharing a bed. Blush crept on my cheeks as I stared at the neatly arranged bed, with shyness clearly in them. I cleared my throat and went inside the room, just in hope I would find a spacious couch or couch so that I could sleep on it, or a separate room or so. And I did find — a T.V. room, which had a big enough couch that was enough for me to fit in, but didn't look very comfortable to sleep in.

I heard Calvin clear his throat, and I heard his footsteps behind me, "I'll sleep on the...couch." I look at him, "You can sleep there." he said, pointing at the bed with his head.

I look at him instantly, "No no, I'll sleep here. You won't fit." I said, stating the obvious, as the couch wouldn't fit here, "I'm comparatively small so I can sleep here."

"No, it will be uncomfortable for you to sleep here." he said, approaching the couch, "I'm used to such places as I used to sleep on the couch in my room sometimes when I would...return from work very late. Before you ask why, it was because I would be too tired to even change or even walk." he said, with utmost composition in his tone, and leaned on the couch.

"No, Calvin. You are not sleeping there." I said, with authority in my speech, "you are too big for that."

He rolled his eyes and I frowned at his action, "Bella, you will also not sleep here." he said, mirroring the authority in his voice, that deep tone turning something in me again.

"Okay." I glared at him, "lie down there, and we'll see if you fit." He nodded at my suggestion and lay down on the couch, his figure sprawling all over the couch, while the lower part of his calf and his ankles hung down; with his head dangling on the hand of the sofa. And let's not talk about how his body hardly fit in the width of the couch, and how he would just fall over and hit his head on the coffee table kept there if he turned over. He is 6'4 by the way — it was obvious that was gonna happen. I looked at him with narrowed eyes and a crooked brow, as I folded my arms over my chest. He pressed his lips together and looked away, with slightly flushed cheeks. I huffed, sensing his embarrassment.

[A/N: Okay yes I changed his height again.]

"Get up. I'll be sleeping there." I scowled.

"No, Bella. You can't be sleeping here. You'll..." he breathed out as he got up, "you'll fall!" putting emphasis, he said.

"And?"

"I beg your pardon." he frowned and spoke in an annoyed tone, as if I was talking about killing a dog, "you will not be sleeping here."

"I will be sleeping here." I said with clarity in my voice.

"Bella, understand that if you sleep on this sofa, you will get a sore back. And I don't want that." he said, putting out his opinion in a calm yet with a tone full of clarity and authority, "I don't want you to have a sore back or injury when you're here on a vacation, especially in your friend's engagement. I'll manage somehow, but not you."

I looked at him with rather soft eyes but my brows never stopped frowning, "thank you but..." I composed myself, "How will you sleep? Won't you get a bad back as well?"

"Don't worry about me. I'll manage." He shrugged off. And yes, the next 20 minutes was spent in convincing him to just sleep on the bed.

"I need to freshen up. We'll continue this once I come back." I said, storming off to the washroom, after I took my pjs, towel, and my vanity bag.

"Please take your time. I'll be sleeping here so please don't convince me other-wise. And it's very late anyway."

"Please relax, and let me as well. I will be sleeping there." I said, looking at the couch with a clear tone, "and you will be sleeping in the bed. Thank you." I left for the washroom.
