Chapter 26: Unveiled Memories.
Bella Richards.
The plane ride was very silent. The interaction between us was almost zero. He was in his cabin, and I was in mine. Neither did we talk, nor did we meet, quite the opposite of our journey to Denmark. I hadn't forgiven him at all. He might not be wrong in his place, but he did make mistakes for which he should pay for. I just wanted him to open up to me, be comfortable with me, and maybe make a great couple together, but if he really doesn't want to, I'm not interested anymore. I laid down on my bed, my eyes staring at the TV screen as Notting hills — one of my favourites — played, while I stared with rather dead and uninterested eyes. The movie that I adored the most, seemed to catch no interest to me, as my eyes stared at the screen with almost no emotions. I did not know what to feel, what to say or know. I was just...there. That little bit of attachment hurted me a little more than I thought. I grunted and turned the TV off. I really wasn't interested in anything much now. I rang the bell for the flight attendant to get me some, I don't know, chocolates.
We landed soon, and he remained in his gentlemanly behaviour again as he led me out of the plane, while I walked down the stairs of the plane. The ride home was silent as well, nor did he speak, nor did I. Back to the start, I guess. As soon as we reached, I got out instantly, as it felt like the tension in the air was too thick. I went straight inside the house, after greeting the staff, and before I could go upstairs, I heard his voice.
"Bella, please, wait!" I turned around as I saw him heaving some sighs as he placed his arms on his waist. I cleared my throat softly and turned to look at him.
"Yes?"
"Dad has called us for dinner tomorrow." he said, his eyes soft, "he expects us to...join, at my parent's house in Manhattan."
I gave him a nod, "timing?" I said, my voice devoid of much emotion.
"5 p.m." I gave him a nod.
"Anything else?" he shook his head, and I went upstairs. It felt weird...and strange when I was ignoring him. It was quite the opposite of my behaviour with him. But yes, I have decided that until he doesn't push forward for this relationship, I won't really care to ask.

The next morning went similarly to those days when it had been a week or so to our marriage — boring and grumpy. Yet there was a change — there was, just, an awkward silence and a very thick tension between us both. It felt as if we did want to be near each other, we did want to talk and spend time with each other, but there was something that was stopping the both of us. For me it was his ignorance and denial, and for him — god knows what. We both went to our offices, without exchanging any words. But what affected me the most were his soft eyes, and the helpless emotions hidden behind them. I wanted to know it all, but my principals and his denial stopped me.
I sat in my office, typing away on my laptop with a serious and almost dead expression, while Christiana had been all smiles after we returned from the trip. I'm not really sure of the reasons behind them, but I will find out very soon. I looked at her as she indulged herself in her work, looking free and much happier. I heaved a sigh, not being able to keep it inside me anymore.
"He did that?" she exclaimed as I explained everything to her. She folded her legs on the chair on which she has seated herself on, and sipped the coffee from her straw. I gave her a nod with a small pout.
"I understood his denial for a while, and thought that it would slowly go away if we spent some time together and enjoyed it together. And just as we were on the peak of it," I sighed, "he left, saying that this was wrong. Can you imagine? It's so annoying."

Romansa"huh...? what happened?" I spoke as he detached himself from me and suddenly just got up from the bed. He stood there for a second and ate up the space between him and the door with long strides. Seeing this, I got up as well. "Calvin, what's going...
