3rd Person POV
~~~
Rose and Taylor made their way back to New Jersey in the afternoon. "I kinda regret leaving this late," Taylor said, checking her watch. Of course, she was referring to the amount of traffic they were facing. "Well, I can't complain, it's New York City, and most of these people might be for me!" Way to keep a positive spin. They crossed over the NYC-NJ border shortly, where they had a shortcut waiting for them. As they approached the stadium, they started playing music. Rose got control over most of it, Taylor still attempting to keep Rose comfortable. To Taylor's surprise, Rose didn't only like her music, but also rock and metal. About 30 minutes later, they were parked in a secret parking spot specifically for performers. Taylor and Rose made their way in, Colin in front and Liam(the other security guy, added for Rose) behind them. When Taylor got to her dressing room, Rose and Taylor went in, while the guards were allowed to relax. "Hi, mom!"
"Hi! Rose, you look cute today!" Andrea said, waving. Rose smiled. Spending the night with Harley was... fun, to say the least. They watched movies, talked, and even did some things Rose wasn't sure Taylor would approve of. But then again, if Harley had access to the cabinet, her parents must be fine with it.
"Thank you, Miss Andrea!" Rose said, sitting down in Taylor's makeup chair and spinning around. Taylor dug into a box in the corner and came out with the 1989 skirt for today. It was green. "Oh, green today? That's pretty," Rose said, but Taylor shook her head.
"It's not just that. I had some favors called. You've heard of the musical SIX, right?" Rose nodded, looking up. "You've seen their mic holders?" Rose's eyes widened as she scanned the skirt, and Taylor pointed at it. "I had these sewn for you on all your costumes so far. So you can sing whenever you want. As long as we talk about what and when before hand." Rose just looked up. It was crazy how in one month, Rose had already gotten comfortable with Taylor. She always struggled with that. Maybe she was safe now...
"Oh, wow," Rose whispered, looking at her suit and trying it on over her clothes. It fit perfectly, and all she needed was a mic to test it out. "Wow, for a person who just started performing," Taylor thought as Rose stood up straight and practiced some of her dance movements, "she's getting really confident." Taylor smiled as she reached into a briefcase, pulling out a smaller, light blue microphone.
"For you." Rose almost started crying, but Taylor immediately wrapped her in a hug. "Don't cry!" she said, wiping Rose's tears. "It's all going to be okay. Now come on. We gotta try these on stage."
As we walked down to the stage together, I popped my mic pack in my set, and the mic in the holder. I also put in my in-ears. Taylor gestured, and the instrumental version of "You're on Your Own, Kid" played in my ears. I laughed, remembering what had happened a month ago when I met Taylor. The MD (who I learned was called Deon) raised my voice in my ear once Taylor started singing with me. We started to blend and when we finished, Taylor made sure to test her piano and guitar. Taylor started rapping Thug Story into her mic as we walked off stage, and I laughed. Of course, soon enough we had to get down to business, so Taylor worked on her makeup while me and Kam worked on the choreography for 1989. I was still staying with Taylor, but would be with Kam for Style before joining her. That took us to showtime, where I stayed with Mr. Scott this time. He was sweet and soft-spoken, offering storied about Taylor if it was ever too quiet. I always accepted. Soon enough though, I had to change into my outfit. Andrea switched with Mr. Scott and helped with my two piece, making sure it covered well. Taylor came out to grab me, hugging me quickly before checking me over. My hair was in space buns today, and Taylor nodded in approval.
"Let's go!" she said, grabbing my hand and leading me to the lift with all the other dancers. I would hide behind them all, trying to not let the color of my outfit pop out. The MD started counting us down in my ears, and we started rising. When the beat dropped and Taylor rose, I was with Kam boogying away. Not long after, I joined Taylor for Blank Space. At some point, she gesture to the mic holder, and the MD counted me off from 16 beats. I picked it up, getting ready to take over for the chorus, and making sure I was on the right platform and ready to receive a golf club. "Boys only want love if it's torture," I started, pointing the golf club at the audience. "Don't say I didn't, say I didn't warn ya."
"Boys only want love if it's torture," Taylor continued. doing the same, and she nodded at me.
"Don't say I didn't, say I didn't warn ya!" I belted, using the techniques Taylor and I had rehearsed during the past weeks. Taylor just sang the rest. Of course, surprise songs started, and I was standing next to her when the lights came on. I had my own little dress now, courtesy of Miss Kam's mom making me my own. When time came, Taylor started her normal intro as I just did my usual patrol of the barricade. I got another favorite bracelet: "Girl at Home". When Taylor said my name, I walked back, and she made me put my mic on the stand next to her.
"Say something, kid!" she said, and I chuckled sheepishly. Day three of being out in the public and I was already talking to fans.
"Well, um. Hello everyone," I started, voice shaking. Taylor made a gesture for me to pause, and I could tell they were cheering. "Wow, thank you guys," I said, trying not to cry. "It's been a wonderful time here in MetLife Stadium. I would like to thank all of the fans, including you guys, for being here, and cheering me on. It really feels like home, after there's so many years of feeling homeless. And I thank you all for that." Taylor smiled as she rubbed my back and started strumming chords on her guitar. "Holy Ground" was played before we walked over and sat at the piano together. When Taylor started the notes, there were markers on the keys saying "Play these!" I laughed, grabbing them and putting them aside as I listened to the key and just added some flourishes to the intro. I had already practiced this anyways.
"Take it away, Rose!"
"Walkin' through a crowd, the village is aglow," I sang, and Taylor and I alternated as we wished. The song was enjoyed and sung along with, so I felt comfortable adding some small harmonies and opt-ups. After the song ended, I dove in with Taylor, blacking out after that. The next thing I remember is being in Harley's bed watching another movie.
